On the What's For Dinner? thread Barbara "Holla Girl" mentioned she would like to visit with me. It's always an honor for someone to want to visit with me. So, I propose we have a virtual potluck dinner. I'll start.

Y'all are all welcomed to my kitchen - friends eat in kitchens not dining rooms. I'll set the table with a red & white check oil cloth tablecloth and festive paper plates & napkins because this FarmGirl isn't going to do the dishes or laundry cloth napkins. The iced tea - sweet & un-sweet will be on the counter next to styro-foam cups filled with ice.

I'll make a baked pasta casserole with fresh herbs. What will you bring? Somebody has to bring dessert because I'm not a baker.

Sara, I will join you and bring an apple crisp from some of the many fall apple choices now and some fresh steamed green beans as a side dish. What time should I arrive?

Winnie it's an open house all day long event so come when you want to and stay as long as you wish to visit. Since it's virtual the invitation is for each and every day. Y'all come!

Your apple crisp sounds yummy and I do so like fresh green beans.

Sara, Thanks for the invite. I still have a large drawer of fresh garden cucumbers, tomatoes and the last of the lettuce so I am thinking a large garden salad will be perfect with your pasta casserole and Winnie's apple crisp.

Julie your garden fresh salad will be perfect. So happy you are coming. Since you and Winnie are the first to arrive y'all can help with the iced tea. Aprons are hanging in the laundry room - help yourself to the one you want to wear. There's aprons for everyone.

Diana I'll give you the grand tour of my pantry and if you like my Yellow Rose Cottage too. How did you know roasted brussels spouts are my favorite way to have them?

Thanks for the recipe Dianna. I use frozen brussels spouts and like them with EVOO and fresh oregano & lemon thyme. Brussel spouts, speckled lima beans, and potato wedges are the only frozen vegetables I buy.

Dianna there's nothing basic about garlic and parmesan cheese. Fresh or dried herbs just kicks it up a notch.

Judith and Karla y'all were posting when I was typing. So happy you both can come. Judith looking forward to your homemade sourdough bread. I'll make sure the Irish butter is soft. Kala your crockpot of chicken and homemade noodles sounds delish. Always wanted to make noodles - maybe someday I'll get around to it.

Oh what fun, I would love to join. I thought I would bring the homemade bread as all meals and friends go well together. Breaking bread together brings us closer to one another. I will make two loafs, one GlutenFree, I enjoy whole grain. Then I will make a regular loaf of sour dough made from my friendship starter that I have been growing. I see others are bringing bread as well, that is great as you can never have too much warm bread with nice Irish Butter, okay my mouth is watering. See y’all at dinner!

Besides my appetite, can I bring a green bean casserole like the one you see on the French's crispy fied onion box? I feel stuffed already just reading all this.

What fun this potluck dinner is. Too bad it's not real. It all sounds so good! I will bring my pistachio fluff fruit salad. It is great---it's made with fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, and maraschino cherries. It has cottage cheese, yogurt and whipped topping in it and of course pistachio pudding.

Thanks for the invite Sara. It will take me a while to get to your place, but I will be there. Got a grill? If not I can bring one. Lets smoke some ribs from my homegrown pigs. I would like to sign up for a tour of your cottage!! lol

Debbie, fresh baked bread is always a good thing and a loaf of gluten free for our FarmGirl sisters that have problems with gluten. You are so kind to think of them. Yes, there will be plenty soft Irish butter.

Julie thanks for your sweet words about my apron collection. Maybe I should hang one on each chair for guest - the laundry room could get crowded with FarmGirls choosing their aprons.

Nancy, your appetite is always welcomed and your green bean casserole sounds wonderful.

Barbara, glad you can make it. Your pistachio fruit salad sounds yummy and I haven't had it before so looking forward to it.

Michele, have a safe trip. No, I don't have a grill so I appreciate your offer to bring your own. Can't wait for your ribs because pork ribs are my all time favorite meat. Ribs from your home grown pigs will be an extra special treat. I just may have to have seconds. Michele I have you down for a tour of my YRC.

Farmgirls...THIS is going to be like Thanksgiving!! What a delicious spread of favorite recipes are going to be on the table!! Sara, I love the you have aprons for all!!! I wear an apron everyday at home and have many seasonal ones too. Many are made of from fabric scraps gifted to me in swaps and then I send them up to countrygrace, our Farmgirl here at MJF who makes aprons from her Grandma's pattern, and enjoy them, Plus I have a few handmade and gifted aprons from other Farmgirls in the mix so I am never without a choice of what apron to wear!! Hehehehe, it is a sort of obsession of mine!! LOL!!!

Sara, this was a great idea to have a virtual dinner gathering. I only wish it was real because I so want to visit @YellowRoseCottage and see where you enjoy cooking and canning. If I get down that way, I am going to make sure to visit other Farmgirls in Texas even if I have to travel the entire state to do so!! LOL!!

Winnie I enjoyed hearing about your aprons and the ones made by Country Grace. I don't have one of her aprons but I do have her ironing board cover. Makes that chore a little more fun. Hope you can make it to Texas. Texas FarmGirls are well represented on the Farm.
