Hi Farmgirls,

I am THAT person...the one who wants Christmas stuff to go up as soon as possible, and who hates to take it all down (though by a week past the New Year then I think it is way overdue).

ANYWAY...satellite radio has....

Yup you guessed it...

CHRISTMAS CAROLS! Wooo Hooo. I know tomorrow is Halloween, but this weekend I am switching the car radio over...

My daughter is SOOOO happy she can drive her own car now. LOL

Anyone else giddy when the season starts?

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

I love this time of year! They giddy for me starts in October. October, November and December are so much fun with all the excitement and celebrating. But I agree. I am ready for this weekend. I'm excited for Halloween to finally be here and super excited to move onto the thanksgiving and Christmas season. We won't completely switch over to Christmas but we will occasionally listen to some Christmas songs or watch some Christmas movies! My 4 year old is ready as well. He asked on Monday if he could watch Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer! Lol

Having friends for my annual Halloween dinner - it started by “accident” and now everyone “expects” to come over. The kids are older, but everyone still dresses up and then we eat and watch old Halloween movies. Kind of silly, I guess, but fun. I always end up with a house full of people.

After Halloween weekend, I will take down the “Halloween”, leave the “autumn” and add a few “Thanksgiving” decorations. I will listen to old Christmas carols, and by the week before Thanksgiving, put a few “Christmas” touches. Then Black Friday - it is FULL ON CHRISTMAS! :)

Nicole, you are not alone being a person who can't wait fo get Christmas up and start enjoying the season. I am not one of them as it is so warm down here in Florida that we don't even get really cool weather or decent leaf changes until Thanksgiving! So, I am that person who hangs on to Fall until Santa Lucia Day, on December 13, when we celebrate with Lucia buns and decorate the tree. My hubby is Norwegian, and Santa Lucia Day is one of the dates that some Norwegians like to kick off the Christmas season. The last few years, it has been in the low 80s on Christmas so it doesn't have that Currier and Ives sort of vibe like I grew up with in Virginia. However, make no mistake about it, there are many floridans who feel like you and out come the snowmen, sonata, lights, and the week of Thanksgiving.

I thought of you this morning when I was talking to my son! I told him we needed to take down the Halloween decorations this weekend and he asked if we were putting up our Christmas tree! lol apparently he is just as excited as you! I told him we needed to put up our Thanksgiving decorations first. He was pretty heart broken. But Black Friday will be here before we know it! That's when Christmas goes up for us.

Ladies---a family up on Flat Top mountain put up a manger scene way before Halloween---I think they got excited over Christmas way to early. It looked liked the nightmare before Christmas. But who am I to criticize---I keep a little Christmas tree up all year in my parlor.

Last Year my grandson decorated all of our Halloween decorations Nightmare before Christmas so we literally had our Christmas lights up and all of these Halloween/Christmas huge blow-up decorations in our yard. It looked so good and we had so many compliments...it stayed up from October thru Dec. Honestly it was the easiest outdoor Decorating season we have ever done.
But as a 6 yr old this year we were into spookey zombies and spiders and ghosts so down everything came Nov. 1st!
We have to come up with a different idea for Christmas decorations this year. I am loving the light up Chickens I saw at Tractor Supply!!!

I have my whole house Decorated by Thanksgiving for Christmas. My youngest Daughters Birthday is Nov. 26 (On Thanksgiving this year) it was always her birthday wish to have the house decorated with all the trees. and my birthday is Dec. 29th so I have always loved Christmas Decorations. I love the house to be extra festive! We try to have a tree in every room of the house even if it is a tiny one or a cluster of tiny ones.
Christmas music is a must - I do start the day after Halloween! My hubby used to be grumpy about it.. now he laughs and is usually the one turning it on. 32 years will do that to someone I guess! LOL

The little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me plant the seeds ?" "Not I," barked the lazy dog . "Not I," purred the sleepy cat . "Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck . "Then I will," said the little red hen .

Hello Nik - loved reading your post and especially fun because we share a birthday, December 29th. I get so much joy from my Farmgirl Sisters and it is a bonus finding someone that shares your birthday. Enjoy your decorations and I too have been playing Christmas music. Hugs.

It's a cool and sunny morning for me and I am thinking of putting up the lights and garland on my back deck. There's quite a few homes here all decorated and they look very cheerful. Nice to see all the bright colors now that the trees have dropped their leaves. Happy decorating everyone!

Nik, I agree with you. My hubby has always been the same way. He don't care for all the decorations and always had to wait until after Thanksgiving to put them up. Well this year he asked if we could put Christmas up early. You can guarantee my jaw hit the floor! Lol! So we put up the Christmas trees yesterday. One in our living room, one in each boys room, and one in our loft. My daughter wants a tree in her room now. She is only 2 so we haven't had one for her yet. We plan to put the remainder of the decorations up after Thanksgiving since I have have Thanksgiving decorations. I am also a December baby! My birthday is the 18th. I think being born in December makes Christmas more exciting for us. Its in our blood.
