Always cherish your loved ones and friends,, even more so, wrap them close to your heart during this time of the World Wide health crisis..
I got a message early this morning that my wonderful Aunt (I baby sat her 3 little kiddos when she and my mom would go into town for a day of shopping, when we lived in Heilbronn)..
She suffered a stroke,,, thank goodness she has no paralisis or loss of speech. She is only 75.
I have been chatting with my cousins all morning (we have a 8 hour delay, 6:30am here = 2:30 there)..
On one side,, my cousins and I took time to chat all day today,, I just wish it were more often and not under these conditions.
Here is Irmgard, me and Tante Uschi... Irmgard's older sister and Uschi were BFF's when they were teenagers...

L-R, my mama, Anna, Andreas, and Wilfried..
I miss our family gatherings.. and if it were not for this COVAD-19,,, I would find a way to go back home to be with my family and friends..

Here is a very unflattering photo of me,, but it was in the wee hours,, much food, much wine and much laughing!

Don't miss out on family time,,, Thank goodness we have facebook, instagram, whatsApp, face time, and telephones to stay connected.
SO chat with someone special,or someone you haven't chatted with in a long time.. don't let today go by with out reaching out.!
hugz to you all.

Beautiful pictures. Wonderful that she doesn't have any deficits from the stroke. That's the blessing of it all! I have a cousin Wilfried too. Also his brother Gotfried.
Do you think that's German? LoL! I wish her well! You are right! We all say we'll call someone tomorrow and then it's to late sometimes! We aren't guaranteed tomorrow! Stay well and keep safe.

Love this Grace. I have been feeling the same way lately. Especially with all the shut downs and viruses going around. It truly makes me worry about everyone. I’m going to reach out to some people today that I haven’t spoken to in awhile. Thanks for the reminder. Love all your pictures too!

Great pictures and thoughts, Grace. So glad you got to talk to your cousin for a long time. Cousins can be so close. My cousin, Carol, and I became so close like we were sisters after my mother passed away. We texted or talked every day. When she passed I felt like I had lost a sister.

Lovely photo story of your German relatives and family and BFF! Thankfully, your Aunt’s stroke was a mild one and she is expected to make a full recovery. We never know when our loved one will find themselves stricken with a life threatening event and it just underscores we need to keep in touch and show our love often. I think this pandemic underscores how we are always just one bad germ away from something like what we are seeing with coronavirus. It has been a huge wake up call for me!!

I enjoyed hearing the stories of others here about special loved ones too! We need more good stories in our lives in these scary times!!

So glad to hear this. Is she at home now? There's nothing like a stroke to make you aware of your own mortality.

Judith,, yes she is at home, her youngest child,, daughter, is there every day to help out.
Because of the COVID-19,, in their small town, they have limited mobility and a curfew, so Michelle had to get written proof to show she is taking care of her mother in case she gets stopped and questioned.
