Yes Marilyn!! Thank you! They are very photogenic! Lol. They actually stay around all year. In fact the first batch just fledged this morning!! We have 2 more nesters still waiting to fledge! I love them so much!!

Dianna, when we moved here almost 30 years ago there was a small wood box on a fence post. The blue birds only stayed that one year. Perhaps all of the cats and dogs and horses and cows made them uneasy.
We do see a Painted Bunting every summer. Last year one was brave enough to come in our yard to get a drink from the dogs pan.

Holy moly would I LOVE TO SEE painted bunting Marilyn!!!! <3. We have indigo blue ones but not painted! I saw a painted one in SD when we were hiking up there near where Danny used to live and I thought I was in heaven it was so beautiful!!
