Theresa -- your carving is amazing. There needs to be a wood carving badge for you. I'm sure the butterfly quilt will be beautiful, too.

Theresa, those are absolutely beautiful! That is amazing dedication as well. I agree. There should be a badge for wood carving.

I love the wood carvings, scrapbook pages, and what an amazing story about the round robin quilt! But HoleyMoley Judith!!!! I am awestruck by all those tiny pieces you turned into a quilt!!!! I'm not sure 6 years would be enough time for me to finish that. I can't believe you did it in 6 weeks. I can sew but something like that intimidates the heck out of me!!! You quilting ladies are amazing. Maybe one day I'll get there. For now I have a book on making quilt square pot holders. There's 52 total (one for each week). Now I just need some time to stay in the house. The farm and garden are taking up all my time right now.

I think it is so interesting that so many of us learned how to iron by doing handkerchiefs. Good luck on all the projects. They are beautiful.

A friend reached out to me and asked me to make her a shawl for this upcoming fall. She wanted one that had pockets. I began on it the end of last week. The yarn is so soft and the pattern is lovely. I cant wait to get it finished. Makes me a tiny bit excited for fall!

I made 3 hair scrunchies.... for my daughter ... and I made a big mess in my sewing room searching for the right fabric to make the scrunchies... does that count as being creative??? lol!

I haven't done any major sewing in the past two weeks, just piddling around with various other things. Somehow, in doing all the other things the sewing (and craft) room has become a big mess. I can't work in clutter so I folded up tables, put away fabrics, removed the big suitcase from where it has been sitting waiting to be put away since December, removed the old VCR, put stuff away and generally cleaned up. I'm feeling better now; I have room to work again. Sewed the backing for the next quilt UFO and will start pin basting it tomorrow.

Judith, after handkerchiefs I too went to pillow cases.... fond memories.

Thank you Krista and Grace. I do love carving things. So relaxing.

Oh Krista, I have a feeling that shawl is going to be awesome. What a very lucky friend. Please post pics when done. Love the color. I too am looking forward to Fall and cooler weather.

Grace, It sure does count. I bet those scrunchies are beautiful and worth any mess made in the sewing room.

I have been folding my hanky's into butterflies. I know that the hanky's are very old but not a single one is square which makes folding the triangle a little tricky. It's fun though. 4 butterflies ready to sew on.... tons more to do LOL

I haven't worked much on my crafty things right now as the blackberries are coming in. So far this season I have picked about 50 cups, not counting what I have given to my neighbor, off my bush and Saturday it looks like I'll have 10 or more cups ready to pick. I've made spread, and jelly. Frozen some. Given my neighbor about 15 cups. So I don't know if I am going to freeze tomorrow or make more jelly. Also, cucumbers are coming in so refrigerator pickles needed made and looks like I'll have tomatoes soon so I will be making ketchup when they come in. A lot of work but well worth it.

Grace, do you sew your scrunchies? I love that scrunchies are coming back into style.

Theresa, you have been busy! We love blackberries. We want to plant some starts at our house and I hope to make tons of BlackBerry jam. That's my kids favorite for PB&Js. Enjoy all those delicious blackberries for me!

I will definitely share a picture once o finish. It will be a bit since we are out of town and I didn't bring it with me.

Thank you Krista, Love Blackberries. We tried several times to transplant a blackberry bush from the railroad tracks that are not far from our house with no luck. So we ended up buying a bush from a greenhouse. I really like the fact that it is thorn less. That one bush is now 7 feet tall and 20 feet long. We have been able to give starts off of it also. One of the guys that works with DH got 6 starts off the bush and he now has a wall of blackberries. (he makes wine).

Grace, pictures???? would love to see them.

Good going, Judith. I'm trying to organize my sewing room - again. I've finished my swap items for Bowl Fillers, Fall Ribbon, and now working on Wine Bottle Dress (and we don't even drink wine!). I have 3 friends coming over next Thursday afternoon to see my new house and I want the room to be more organized than it is right now.

I am also having rotator cuff surgery on Sept 17, so need to finish up the swaps I'm in and limit new ones until I can use that arm again. LOL!

The problem with cleaning up in the sewing room is that I uncovered a several more UFOs. I'm getting to be afraid to open another box or drawer......

Linda, good luck with the surgery.

Judith, I'm right there with ya! Not only do I find UFO's, I find patterns that I want to do which leads to searching in the sewing room for supplies then purchasing what I need to do them, which then creates another mess! And around and around I go.

Finally got the 80"x80" quilt basted and under the needle of the machine today. No fancy quilting, just a 2" grid. I'm in
get-it-done mode.

Hey Judith,,
Lookie at what I finished up tonight...

I did some modifications to the pattern.. but I think it is super cute!
I went through my wool-felt stash, I think I might have to make a few more of these,, 1 for each of my grandkiddos..
The best part, it is my 1st (2020)Christmas project,, that didn't become a UFO!
Thank you Judith for the sweet pattern kit.
