I am finally getting some growth in my garden...
All of a sudden we got some heat and the weeds are popping up... like... Weeds! lol!

my sweet mint is going crazy!

onions and beets... the sunflower was a scraggly seedling that I tucked into this garden, thinking it probably wouldn't survive.. lol!

I have 1 Gooseberry and one Johannesbarren(current), and my grand daughters planted some sunflowers seeds in between them..

my tomatoes just (finally) took off,,, but my bell peppers are still slow...
Guess I had better get out side and get back to weeding..
Oh, and the white, and blue netting seems to help scaring off the birds.. the netting blows around from the breeze.. and I covered my strawberries with it too!
My 2 grape vines have grapes, so hopefully the birds will leave them alone since I lightly draped the netting over the vines..
Ok,, back to work!

Looks fabulous Grace!i have been feeling the same way. My raspberries are starting to bud and I’m jumping for joy! My tomato plant looks awesome, but I have something eating my pepper plants. That’s all of my garden for this year. But I do have a dahlia that I moved from the shade of my back porch to the sun of my front porch. It’s starting to have flower buds again!

Krista.. I planted 3 types of barriers,, 1 Black berry, and 2 different types of raspberries.. the blackberry has blossoms while the other 2 do not..
My Gooseberry has a few berries and my Johannesbaren/current has a few berries.. Hopefully next year will be a 'bumper crop'.. lol!

I have never grown a Dahlia... on my 'list'...

I will be getting some blackberry starts from my father in law next year and some more raspberries starts from my dad. My dad gave me 10 starts and the travel to my home was a rough one on them. They all survived but one. Now I have 2 more that aren’t surviving our harsh winds. I’m going to take whatever I can get from my raspberries this year.

It was very pretty when I purchased it from the store but I misunderstood the lady and thought it needed shade ( which is what I was asking for. Shade flowers). Soon after the flowers died and no new ones came on. So I read about them and seen they needed sun. That is why I moved it. So excited for the beautiful flowers to come up again.

Krista,, my blackberry bush is exploding with blooms, but my red raspberries are still being ninnies...not 1 single bloom..
So how is it,, growing wild in the fields they give off berries by the tons,,, but I put mine in healthy soil with fertilizer,, water daily and talk to them, and tell them how proud I am of them.. but do I get any red berries? NOOOOO!

My well established raspberry strip (70 feet next to the driveway) is doing fantastic. The summer growth is done but we will get more in the fall. That's thanks to rain at the right time.

Go figure,, once again Momma Nature was in a foul mood.. it has been cold and windy,, and just a bit ago it rained..
On the plus side, I didn't have to water in my garden today.

Looks so green. What do you use for a soil mixture and fertilizer? I bought organic potting soil and added worm castings. Things started off great but after a few months it started to have issues. The squash got the dreaded powdery mildew and all died.

I took them all out so it didn't spread to the rest of the plants. The beans and lettuce varieties are doing the best.
Everything else is growing at a snails pace. LOL The carrots, turnips and tomatoes have yet to mature.

But, I'm thrilled non-the-less because this is the first year it's produced anything.

I'm going to invest in a different fertilizer a friend recommended that grows professionally in WA. I'll see if that turns out any different next season.
