Scroll down for partners.

We had a lot of fun with this swap so let's do it again.

So this is my idea for this swap. Let’s create a small piece of Found Word Art to partially or wholly decorate a handmade postcard (any thick 4” x 6” piece of paper) or notecard cover (you can further decorate either any way you want), write a happy little note, and send it off to your partner. No tucks this time.

Your little poem or prose can have any theme, but let’s just keep it happy, positive, etc.
If you need ideas on how these are done Google "Found word art" There are several ways to do it but there really is no wrong way.

Sign- ups will be until July 30. Partners probably posted the 31st (shooting for the 31st, but life is unpredictable). You will have to contact your partner for their address. Mail out no later than August 15.

Madeline - Barbie
Jami - Ida
Jill - Marilyn
Jean - Dianna
Patsy - Marie

Contact your partner and get her mailing address. Create your word art and mail it to her by August 15th. Tucks not required; remember this can be done as a postcard. Post pictures. Most of all -- Have fun!

Thank you Maria, Dianna, and Patsy; I've added you to the list.

I've had fun looking on Pinterest under Found word art and Blackout poetry. Lots of ideas if you have a blank moment and can't think of anything to do.

I'm a newbie to everything here but would love to give this a try. I love doing mail art of any kind. Please add me to the list. I make "one" handmade postcard -- add some "found word art" and mail to a partner that you will assign -- is that right?

Jean -- Welcome, you are on the list. Yes you are right. You could even use a post office post card if you want but I find them to be thinner than they used to be so I make my own.

Thank you. I am so excited -- this is my first activity on this chatroom. I make embroidered postcards and enclose/mail them in clear sleeves so they arrive clean an undamaged. BTW fond memories of my first kiss while frog gigging with a handsome cowboy on family friend's ranch in Galt CA 100 years ago . . . hahahaha.

Jean --You will love it here; this is the best group of gals in the universe. Sisterhood is alive and well.
It probably wasn't DH. He sold his horse but still goes frog gigging. :-)
I used to make quilted postcards but stopped when the postoffice started charging e $4.00 to mail them.

Hi Judith,

My first swap was the word art earlier this month. It was fun to create and even more fun to receive such a lovely piece of art. Count me in for this one too.

I'd like to give this a try! I've never done it before but would like to see what I can come up with.

Jean, I have never heard if or seen a quilted post card. It sounds very interesting. I would love to hear more about them.

Hi Terri -- Easy peasy. Just make a mini-quilt (4"x 6"). Then print a postcard back on card stock or easier yet on 4" x 6" photo paper. Use Steam-a-Seam or Heat N Bond or a similar product to fuse the two together and sew around the edge. You can iron directly on the fabric side to fuse, but use a scrap piece of fabric over the paper side when you iron it. Nothing to it and fun to make or get.
