At last - I have been matched up with my extraordinary and inspiring co-worker - Jill. We swapped packages in the lunch room; much to the envy of the "not so much Farmgirls" amongst us. It was so much fun! As always Jill completed her swap with meticulous detail. Check it out - She cut a box to fit the contents and wrapped it in holiday paper adorned with Christmas berries. She made three Christmas tree ornaments by folding circles of fabric, as well as an ornament made by folding pages of a book. Of course there was the cocoa, tea and a candy cane cheesecake recipe. Thank you Jill - you went above and beyond what the swap called for - lucky me !!

Linda, I was waiting to be partnered with Ida, I knew it would eventually, and I'm glad it was this one! We had fun and it really is quite an event when we bring in our Farmgirl Mail to the office!!

So as we said, it's so much fun for Ida and me to bring our Farmgirl goodies to the office, and to actually swap was a blast! Ida always amazes me with her talent! This time Ida made the most wonderful tree decoration from a copy of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." A tree shape is made by folding pages of the book, and then the beautiful "garland" and tree topper make this a feature of my upcoming holiday decor. And the crochet petals on the poinsettia ornament make me really want to learn that skill :) Not in the photo (because one of my kids was reading it and kept it) is a story about the history of fruitcake, and let me tell you, that is one funny bit of reading! It made me feel a little less guilty about not liking that particular dessert so much! LOL!

Jill and Ida Jane - I LOVE that book tree! And the ornament. So neat!
Ida Jane - would you please send the directions? I have made the hymnal angels, but hadn't seen the tree done from a book. I love it!

I received my Christmas ornament from Krista today. It's a very beautiful ornament made with paper. I love the colors she used and it is so intricate with all the little folded pieces on two layers. You did great work, Krista. Thank you so much. And also included were the Any Old Fruitcake recipe, the note about her Christmas memory, hot chocolate, and a mini clipboard and pad of paper. I love this; thank you so much.

Linda, I received my package! Thank you so much! I love the Christmas candy shaped ornament. It’s so neat. And I love your Christmas story. Your mother is an absolute genius. I am going to remember that just in case it ever happens to me, because we put things together Christmas Eve as well. Also you recipe sounds yummy. I love poppyseeds. And I have heard about poppyseeds showing up like drugs before. That’s why my hubby won’t eat them because they do tons of random drug tests on him and his fellow employees. There job is very dangerous so they want their employees to be good. Thank you so very much!

Terri, received your nice ornament and angel charm box. The cake recipe sounds good too. I also learned and sang Silent Night in German as a child.
