Needless to say, on our recent outing DH and I hit the Hardware store,, fabric store and a quick dash into my favorite Thrift.
Look what we found, our big score, oh yes there was other stuff,, but I had to share these 2 with you.

a very dark 'espresso' colored cabinet.. it was in fabulous shape and only $6.99... it is cleaned up and now hangs in my bathroom.

isn't that the most hideous chandelier?... well it won't be for long!
Now I am in search for 6 small butter dishes or coffee saucers,,
Why you ask?...
because this will be re-purposed into a bird feeder.
I will strip out the wiring and then epoxy the bowels/saucers to the 'arms' .. then paint it,, or should I leave it that brass color?
oh and I got the chandelier for $5.99
I figure I will have plenty of down time this Winter do work on re-purposed ~ up-cycled projects....

Whose bowels are you repurposing. That might be painful for them. LOL.

PS: I know you meant bowls.

Great little cabinet. Have fun fixing up the shabby chic bird feeder.

Hey "Quiltee" Mks. Linda . . . your comment about all the "started" projects made me think of this which clearly described me . . .

Jean -- you know me too well! That's how I stay busy all day but never get anything done.
Gace -- what a great idea for a bird feeder.

Grace,

What awesome finds. Please post a pic of the bird feeder when it's done, I would love to see it! What a great idea. I love feeding the birds.

Grace, that is so creative! It’s going to be a cool bird feeder. I personally would change the color, just to make it look more outdoorsy.

Krista,, it's funny... one minute I like the tacky brass and then the next minute I am looking at possible paint colors... I guess it comes down to where I will hang it,,
Either way,,, my birdies will be dining fine in their Downton Abby-esque feeder! lol!

Oh, you ladies are so funny. I think I am walking in circles too. One thing leads to another and then I am doing something I hadn't expected either. It certainly is logical for the times we are going through.

Well Grace you have done it again!! Thrift store goodies for next to nothing!!! Your idea for a bird feeder sounds adorable and I can't wait to see it all renovated and out next Summer.

Jean, that posted you found is hilarious, and isn't that just how things seem to go these days?!!
