Your REAL partner is EVERYONE. Yep. That’s right, no foolin’. And, no post office woes to worry about. And no tucks to gather – just an easy peasy email swap. Now, here’s what you do –
1. Take two photos of your book or better yet to assure the right size, scan them. One standing that shows the cover and one of the flat page.
2. Save them as PDF’s or JPEG’s
3. Post the standing one on the MINI BOOK forum page for all to see
4. Send the flat one to everyone on the email list I have already sent you
5. If you absolutely LOVE tucks and feel naked without one (I could use one under my eyeballs – but that’s another topic) then send a link with your email to a favorite artsy site.
Now the real fun begins – you are going to receive 19, yes nineteen, mini books. Mine is on the way to start things off. You will have to fold them yourself. A nice start to a great Mini Book collection. With the samples I have already sent, you should end up with around 25 of these little gems. . . Watch the forum for more on this topic.
MINI BOOK
Have you ever dreamed of writing a book? Well, here’s your chance. Yes, you CAN do it. This book will only be 8 pages long and you can easily create it from a single sheet of paper. You will design its cover, create its contents and produce the final product all on your own. With a little help, of course. Front cover – back cover – 6 pages of content. What content you ask? Well, it can be as simple as pictures of your 6 favorite flowers or birds, 6 favorite recipes, a “to do” list, a gratitude journal, 6 pages of collage, rubber stamping or embroidery or favorite quotes or funny cartoons, jokes, -- any subject you choose . . . maybe a little book of pix from the Dotee doll or Feed Sack swaps. Or how about “6 Ways I Survived Coronamadness”?
When you sign up, I will then send to your private email address full instructions for making a one-page mini book as well as links to some great free sites for ideas and samples. And here’s a fun plus to this swap, once your design is complete, you can save a PDF or JPG file of your creation and send it to all your friends, family and Farmgirl sisters by email, or print multiple copies and send by snail mail. How cool is that?

I really like this idea. It will work in greatly with the readin' writin' and arithmatic badge. That is of course if a short story could be in the pages of the mini book? Count me in please.

Just post any questions you may have, Mary. These mini-books aren't intended to be "secret" projects. I'd like to think of this swap as a learning something new project. So let's share as we create and help each other. These little booklets are so fun and easy to make once you get the process down. They are also a wonderful project to teach your kids or grandkids. Children come up with some incredibly creative off-the-wall ideas for them. And did you see that Terri mentioned they might also work toward a MJF merit badge -- WIN/WIN! And I had a thought last night as I was dropping off to sleep -- You Farmgirls who play in Dianna's wonderful ATC swaps -- This would be a clever way to showcase your ATC collections.

I'm looking forward to this -- it will be fun. When I was a school librarian I did a special project with the third graders every year. With the help of their teachers they wrote the books then the kids and I would bind them as presents for their parents.

I received the instructions, and this is awesome how a mini book can be magically created with one piece of paper. Just trust the pattern. The instructions are easy to follow. Just fold as instructed and cut one slice between the arrows. Then fold with front cover to the front. I printed the 'mini dream journal' and created a sweet mini book. These could actually become addictive! Thank you, Jean.
