I learned how to freeze several different types of fresh produce the ones I chose were mushrooms corn on the Cobb and Strawberries. To freeze the strawberries what I did was I laid him on a cookie sheet Ann froze them. Then when they were frozen, I stuck with that gallon freezer bag and put him in the freezer. For the mushrooms, I sliced and stir-fried with a little bit of butter. I then put them in a calendar to drain off all the juice and let it sit there for a bit to cool off. I then put them in a freezer bowl. And put it in the freezer. I then did the corn I husked the corn then put them in a gallon zip lock bag and put it in the freezer. I have done this before and know that it tastes pretty good.

Allison - I freeze corn on the cob and berries too! LOVE corn on the cob like that, always tastes so fresh! But, I have been leaving the husks on, I just cut off the ends to clean them up a little, but it's always more work when Im ready to use them to prep for dinner, may have to try doing it your way this year! Thank you for the inspiration! AND, I guess I need to go for my merit badge on this... didn't realize there was one!

GREAT JOB, ALLISON! I have learned that you can freeze corn on the cob right in their husks and it works just fine. No blanching. Just put them in baggies and freeze. When you want to use them, all you have to do is put them in foil in the oven and bake til done - they steam themselves right in the husk, and they taste as good as fresh! AMAZING! When I am really busy, this method sure saves me a lot of time! Maybe you can try it with a few ears and see how you like it!
