I'm on several cycling groups on Facebook, but I wondered if there are any farmgirl cyclists.

Hi Brenda,

Yes, my husband and I are cyclists (mountain biking mainly). My husband is probably more of a biker than me - I usually run the trails and he rides. We are fortunate to live close to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which is 161 km from end to end. It is one of the longest rail trails in the Southern Hemisphere. You can check out their website at https://www.brisbanevalleyrailtrail.com.au/. They have a link to their facebook page on the website. We have also done the Central Otago Rail Trail in New Zealand which was amazing. We did it over 4 days & carried all of our gear with us on the bikes.
We also recently took our bikes on the ferry to North Stradbroke Island and rode around for the weekend. Such a great way to see the sites.
Where do you like to cycle?

I love riding my bike here on the paved forest preserve trails. Fortunately my area is full of biking trails and I rarely have to cross busy streets. I try to ride year round but since this IL there are weeks or months, especially in the winter, that it isn't possible. My son will be a senior in high school this fall and he loves riding as much as I do. When we moved here 9 years ago he used to trail way behind me on the trails, now I'm the one who's way back. He got bigger and I got older!

Happy pedaling!

I ride in North Central Ohio. I belong to a Face book group "women over 60 riding bicycles great lakes region" or something like that, we get together in a group to ride some rides in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and I suppose Wisconsin And Minnesota, although I haven't met up with anyone from those two states yet.

Most of us rode about 30 miles 2-5 times a week.

I'm heading out now, as a matter of fact!
