Beautiful peonies! I love them but have a shady yard, so I can't grow them. I'm so sorry about the grasshoppers are dining on your sunflowers. Maybe you can check with a birding community to see how you can attract the birds that will eat the grasshoppers? Good luck with it.

Beautiful peonies Grace! I miss my peony plant. I really want to get me another one. They small so good. Sorry the grasshoppers are being a pain. Hopefully those birds come around soon and help you out.

Your peonies are beautiful, Grace! LOVELY!

Have you tried food grade diatomaceous earth? Much less violent, super quick and nourishes the plants, too. I use the stuff from Earthworks. It's wonderful!!! You can read up on it (and even purchase it, if you want) on their site:

God bless and help you! I hate garden pests with a passion! And I am NOT a finger squisher at all! Blah ha ha ugh! {{{willies}}}

Nini.. funny you should mention D.E.,, I use to use it back in Calif.,
As for the birds,, who should be feasting on the Hoppers,, they are to busy nocking all the Cherries off the cherry trees!
But on the plus side,, my potatoes are doing fab,, I see French fries in our future! heehee!
