Well, though we are for the most part, done with snow season,.we are now in rain season...
I have been puttering in my sewing room to keep from turning into a Slug!

I had fun making pot holders, and now am working on book markers.
The flamingo one is from JeanP, and the one with my name on it was a piece of embroidery that JeanP.sent me, I made it into a book marker. Last night I crocheted the one on the right. And I machine embroidered the cat one a week ago.
Book markers are so easy... I might make a decopauge or fun paper craft one next.

Oh, I love the Cat -- you used variegated thread didn't you? Very neat. Are you going to do a book mark swap? I love making them. They are sew quick and easy peasy. . . .

Jean, did you recognize the one you embroidered my name on?

I might do a book mark swap, later in the month.

For our crafty card making gals, how fun to add a little Enpherma touch to decopauge book markers.

Hmmmmmm, I can't remember what that was from. I recognize that I did that design but memory fails me on any other details. LOL Yeah, I love the little flamingo guy too. He was from the last Kimberbell Bella Box. Gotta make some more of him. He's very quick and easy and I still have a good sized piece of the pink leather.

I've been crocheting "snowballs". They are a scrubbie made with the scrubbie yarn from Hobby Lobby. My gf in FL makes them and they are easy. I've made 8 today in Easter colors to sell in the shop at home. Here's a picture of the ones I've made so far. They go pretty fast and I can do them while watching tv.

I have finished one of the crocheted hexagon sweaters in a grey heather yarn. I like the way it turned out (see picture) and it is very comfortable. I am making one now in a denim variegated. They go very quickly.

I saw these cute kitties on Ebay and decided to make some myself with Spring colored scraps. Originally I made fall and Halloween themed kitties from this easy pattern. It is super simple to make. Now I need to figure out what to do with them. Or maybe I will keep them and enjoy them myself!!

Winnie,

The scrubby is super easy. I get the Scrub-ology 2.0 yarn from Hobby Lobby. It is safe for body or pans and won't scratch. It has shiny pieces in it, too.

Here it is (Ch 2 always counts as HDC):
I use a size H hook.
Ch 5 and slip stitch to join
Row 1: Ch 2 (counts as HDC), add 19 more HDC into the circle, join to top of Ch 2 (20 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 2, HDC in same space as Ch 2, 2 HDC in top of each HDC around, join to top of Ch 2 (40 stitches)
Repeat row 2 twice more (80 and 160 stitches).
Bind off and weave end in.

Does that sound clear as mud? Very easy and I can get at least 3 from each skein.

Linda, thanks for the pattern for the scrubbies. I will look for that yarn at our local Hobby Lobby. My kitty pattern, I just made up from seeing them for sale on Ebay a few years ago. The finished kitty measures $ 1/2 inches tall at the ear point and 3.5 inches wide across the body park.

LOL!! Yes, Grace, it is a Kat Lady Starter kit too???

Darling bookmarks, Grace! I have several in nearly every book, they are like little treasures when you go back later and re read a favorite!

Linda, Your crochet is beautiful, love the sweater, looks so comfty and feminine!

Winnie, Your kitties are adorable! They would make darling shelf sitters, bowl fillers or even easter basket items. Maybe even make a wreath with them, glue them to a grapevine for your front door? Very cute!

April, I agree!
I have in the past received sweet little crochet page markers,, and have left them in the books,,,
I have lent some of those books out and given away the books,, forgetting to keep the page marker,, but on the
plus side, the recipients did not have to scrounge around for a book marker. LOL!

Winnie -

FYI - my friend said to get as many HDCs in the loop as possible - for me 20 seems to work best. The more you get in the fluffier the scrubbies.

Grace, I love the bookmarkers. I am working on some corner fabric ones.

Linda, love the scrubbies, I am going to have the look for that yarn next time I'm in Hobby Lobby. Love the sweater too, the color is so pretty. Gray is one of my favorite colors.

hugs,
Marc

Marcy, I need to remember to make more, to tuck into books that I share or give to friends.. what a great gift idea,,
The book markers/page markers can be customized to the theme of the book or customized for the reader, color, flower pet etc...

I love Bookmarks too. I have a little cedar box here on my bookcase
that I keep them in. Once in a while I will find one in a book that
I buy at the library used or the thrift store or garage sale.
I was just at the library this past week and got seven books for a
dollar fifty. All donated used books are .50 cents. So you never know what
you might find in them.

Nancy Jo, we have found everything in old books from train tickets to receipts and even grocery lists.
I place bookmarks in between the books on my shelves. That way if I am reading a series and don't get a chance to get back to the next one right away I know which one to start with next.
