This was my rocking chair when I was little, its amazing that I still have it. My Daughter April gave me this Amish doll a few years ago and the rocking chair is the perfect place for her. There are Amish people about an hour from here. They make so many pretty things. Millie is all hand made, Doll itself and clothes.
Hope all is well with those of you that live where all this crazy weather happened. We have ice and a lot of broken tree limbs, but nothing that Richard can't fix.

Love the doll and the rocking chair. I have my great-grandmother's rocking chair it means the world to me. It's cold and rainy here, so I am staying inside and keeping busy.

hugs,

Nancy Jo, I had a little wooden rocker when I was a girl as well, kept it for a very long time, ended up getting rid of it. One of those regrets I have now. :-( Wish I still had it. BUT, I do have the two little chairs my boys used when they were small, they would sit at our coffee table and play and snack... those will never leave! Love your little Amish dolly as well. I still have a rag doll my mother made me when I was little; Marie. Still love her! Such treasures. I love how you share a little piece of your world with us every week. I always look forward to your posts. XO

My rocking chair from my childhood looks very similar to yours. I still have mine and Everleigh uses it. I love how well it has held up all these years. Your Amish doll is so cute and a perfect fit for your rocking chair.

Nancy Jo, I love your little rocker with the handmade Amish doll. I have had the chance to visit Amish country up in Pennsylvania around Lancaster and I became fascinated with their culture. I have a couple of books that explains their history and it is most interesting. They are amazing how they have been able to keep their beliefs and ways though the decades here in the US. Their handwork is exquisite!
