Guess who is going to the Spa tomorrow…???
Yep! Lucy and Ethel…
It’s been awhile and Lucy’s Bobbin needs a good massage (giggles)..
The Viking also needs a trip to the Viking therapy office…
I may have to sit on a street corner, with a cardboard sign that reads… “ not homeless, have 2 F.W that need tune-ups.. will work for sewing machine repairs “…

Ethel did not have a case when I found she last year.
In the town of Koosikeo (?spelling)… in Idaho, there is a Feather Weight shop that sells every thing related to vintage Singer sewing machines as well as parts, and cases,, and they repair and rebuild Feather Weight machine,, even do custom paint colors and decals…
I believe both GrandmaDi and JeanP have been to the shop…
Maybe this summer I will venture down there.. It’s about a 4+ hr drive from Spokane.. but I have no fears,, I have a Vtg trailer and am not afraid to tow it there! Lol!!!

I need to get another case to decorate… lol!

Between charcoal and clay kitty litter I was able to get rid of the musty odor.. I keep a small sachet of lavender in the case…

All three of mine need to go to the spa, but at $129+ each, I don’t know that they’ll go all together. Lol!
I have the repair manual, and Ed has been cleaning and adjusting my 301 and my 401, so he might do minor cleanings on at least one of mine.

How cool that there is a Featherweight sewing machine shop with lots of parts and things related to these popular models! I would love to go see a shop like that.. Grace, your carry box for your machine is adorable the way you have it all fixed up! So cute!!

Linda,, I do some of the simple maintenance on my machines,, but nothing more..
You reminded me, I do need to take my 401 in for service too!,, Yikes I am hemorrhaging money with all these machines.. I think my Rocketeer is due for a cleaning/tune-up too!
I need to buy the winning Lotto ticket so I can support my sewing machine habit!!! lol!

Winnie,, I would luv to get my hands on another carry case and decorate it up... maybe photo copy pictures from old I Love Lucy DVD or magazine or what ever that has more of Vivian Vance - Ethel photos from the different Lucy TV shows...

We just had a spa day at my moms last week for our featherweights. We cleaned and polished and oiled up. We found that only my machine has the centennial emblem. It looks like both of yours have it too. The girls will come back well rested and ready to go.

Grace I was just up in Kooskia I bought a bunch of things from them. I really wouldn't attempt to take a trailer there even a small one. But they have everything anyone would need for Featherweights. And just an FYI never carry your machine in the case with the handle of the case they are getting so fragile that they break. But when you get down here you had better stop to say HI.

gramadi,, lol! trust me,, I probably would park my trailer at Jeaanp...whether she likes it or not! and then drive down to Kooskia.. lol!
And for sure,, I would snag you for a visit and cup of java :>)
Funny you should mention not carrying the old cases by the handle due to their age,,, I always lift and carry mine from the bottom,, like a box... for that same reason, it's age...
