Finally…we have spring! :) Two days in a row with warmer weather and sun! (58 and 63 degrees). My hubby and I spent the day adding soil to 2 new raised beds, clearing out the various leaves that get blown in from other yards, and just tidying up outside. It was so wonderful to be outside…but I now know that I need to get in better shape!! Lol

I am working on another badge…so I made this trellis with branches we’ve lost in the last two big wind storms. I love how it turned out. It will be used to trellis our cucumbers.

Ohhhh Karen!! That is the coolest!! I LOVE it!! You are so inspiring!! Goodness knows we had so many branches down from the storm, I've been researching a wattle fence to go around the dahlia bed!! You inspire me to go for it!! The storms may come and destroy but something good surely can come from them! So happy y'all warmed up!! Enjoy!!

It just dawned on me tomorrow is the First Day of Spring and I am so ready for it this year, too many dark days this year. Wed is the last day of frost for my zone, things are looking up around here.

Thanks, girls! It was pretty easy to make. John helped me by holding everything tight while I tied things up with twine. Then I used our fruit tree trimmings to weave through the tied down branches. I’ll try to remember to take a picture of it once the plant has climbed a bit.

Dianna, you’re so right. Storms leave things behind but we can then take ‘em and make something useful and beautiful from it. At first, John wasn’t so sure about me using his fire starting branches but he changed his mind!!

Yay, for the first day of spring!! I think we are all ready! :)

Love that trellis you made and I look forward to seeing it this summer when something is growing and happy inside it.

I am ready for spring. Even though today is the first day of spring, I think we still have a little while. We are still supposed to get snow this week. Enjoy all the nice spring weather for me. I love your trellis. It's going to be perfect for you cucumbers.

I was just commenting on another post about it is the first day of Spring and we actually had warmer weather and blue skies but still had mounds of snow around. It felt so good walking down my drive way to the mail box. We just got hit by a Nor eastern a few days ago ! I just love Mother Nature !!

Thanks, Connie!

Denise, we got them in the ground later than we wanted. So the cucumbers are are just now sending out the vines. We have a really cool morning glory curling it’s way up the trellis right now though! :)
