Sheila, I will be 69 in July. I have had purple hair since I was 60. Purple is my favorite color and everyone I have is purple. Purple and my hair make me smile.
This photo is the first time I got my purple hair. Now it is shades of lavender weaved in with my grey.
My body maybe old and hurt like the dickens, but my mind still things young.
Tara glad to see your post, 60 is not for sissies. I can not wrap my mind around the fact that I will be 70 next year. What the heck! Maybe this year will crawl by.

I'm overweight too and I'm finally getting where I don't care. I'll be 82 in April and life is getting too short. I was a skinny Minnie until I was about 60 and started gaining weight. I got more self conscious with each pound gained. One day I looked around and saw that just about everyone else was overweight too.

I get up with all kinds of aches and pains in the morning. Ugh I never had this before, I am 64. lol I am trying to walk more and do some stretches. My cousin Dawn highly recommended Miranda Esmond, hope I spelled that right, she is on youtube, for easy stretches to keep the body moving. I think it is helping, but some days I run out of time to do them. We all got to keep doing what makes us happy.

I'll be 82 on Fri March 1. Being older has its challenges but when I see in the Obituaries where a woman has died in her late seventies, I think that's too young to die. If the late seventies are too young to die than the eighties are young enough to live a fruitful if slower life.

I love Miranda Edmond! Her stretches really work and sometimes you wonder if you’re actually “doing” anything but you are. Her programs come on a local PBS station. She used to be a professional ballerina:)

My brain hasn't caught up with my age; it's kind of a shock to see myself in the mirror. The only mirror in our house is over the bathroom sink. Last Fall I stayed in a motel and when I got out of the shower I saw myself in the full length mirror and my first thought was of the Venus of Willendorf. In spite of old age with all the aches and pains I still do believe I am happier and each day is a blessing.

I don't think our brains ever catch up. Meaning I don't think of my self as being the age I am. I do what I can to be active but I have a major issue with sciatica. I don't let it stop me. My chiropractor always told me that the joints that move like to keep moving and when we don't move them that is when the problems start.
I for one have some weight to lose. About 25-30 lbs. Not easy to be sure. My goal is to keep moving.

I've been in shock the past few days. On Sunday when I called my parents, my mom told me that my cousin Steve in Arkansas was in an accident and his legs were amputated below the knee. Since I'm his friend on Facebook, I learned more details there.
Then on Monday our daughter who lives in Covington, across the river from Cincinnati, was accosted in an alley by a man with his ding-a-ling hanging out. He kept blocking her path so she maced him, but got a whiff of it too. She is ok physically except for some bruises when he pushed her, but is shaken. But she's resilient and is still going to work. I think my husband is getting her a mace gun with dye, just in case.
I feel thankful for that both my cousin and daughter are alive.

Vanessa, I am so sorry to hear of your cousin's accident. Praying for him.
So sorry for what your daughter went through and glad though she was shaken up is doing okay.

I love this thread. I too will be 70 yrs old in a few months. When I think about it, I get a little sad, but then I look at my family/grandkids and I say "thank you Lord for these blessings." So, I guess 70 isn't that bad.

Yesterday my sister and I were talking on the phone about my 82nd birthday today. I said, "My birthday will be the only day I will be 82 because the next day I will be 82 plus one day". Saying that drove home to me that each day is special and there will never be another one like it.

Thank you to all for your wishes. I feel better. My cousin has a Caring Bridge site and I'm keeping in touch. He is still sedated, but I wonder if he'll get prostetics.

Age is just a number... mine is 69... no complaints,, I plan to get into more mischief before I get put out to pasture.. lololol!

Yesterday I decided to get my hair cut, it was so heavy on my head. My usual hairdresser was busy, another was too. At the third place I was able to get it cut.
