Time to gently pack away my Autumn decorations… and head out to the barn to retrieve the Christmas decorations…
Pour a glass of gluhwein, nibble on some spice cookies , and crank up the Christmas music.

I started on my decorating too yesterday. Got the lights up outside, and some of my pretty runners placed around in the house.

I guess I'm in good company, I bought in all my fall decorations on my front porch and put out my winter decorations. I no longer decorate for holidays, but I do enjoy decorating for the four seasons.

Ho, Ho, Ho, looks like it will be time for Santa and friends to arrive everyone soon! We are just now experiencing the little Fall that happens down here. The deciduous trees are changing their colors and we have had more cooler days than hot this past week. But I checked my Azalea bushes this week and sure enough they have all set their flower buds and even one flower is blooming outside my cabin window. We always have Fall when the Christmas tree lots are full of trees and buyers and colored lights are shining again in house windows and houses.. But, I will enjoy this last week of November surrounded by all my fall stuff to take advantage of this time I have waited so long to enjoy. We are supposed to even have temps in the upper 30s this week for a few days which will be the first time this late fall period.

I was going to go out to the barn today and pull out the Holiday decorations.. but, we have a severe weather alert until noon,, we did finally warm up to 24' degrees.. so I think I will wait until tomorrow...
But to make me happy,,, and hubby too! I made biscuits and we ate them warm outta the oven with jam and warm apple cider.. yum!
I do have the Christmas music station on, on the radio.. so all is good..

I haven't yet put away all of my fall. Will work on that today and then bring out the Christmas stuff this week. That tree goes up on the second because....tradition.

The glass pumpkins are down at my house and autumn is packed away until September. I did put up the outside lights on Friday. That turned out to be good timing since we had a lovely snow all day yesterday. The Christmas decorations will have to be a little patient with me, they will get their turn soon.

Happy Decorating!

All the Christmas decorations are up at our house. We finished up the outside Christmas lights yesterday. And of course Christmas music has been playing the whole time! I made some hot wassail today. The house smells amazing!

I don't even mind when Sissy get's into mischief around the decorations :>)

Finished my inside decorating, except for the tree, yesterday. I will head out and find a tree the first part of Dec. Balsam grow like weeds in the summer pasture.

Getting Christmas decorations out always feels like reconnecting with old friends and memories from childhood. My Mom divided up all the tree ornaments we used in the family among 5 of us kids. We each got 3-4 depending on size. I also have some of the family decorations that nobody else wanted which I always love to put out. Everyone enjoy your decorated homes as December slides in on Friday!

Winnie, I feel the same way. Many of my decorations are from my childhood. And its amazing how looking at a decoration can take you back so far and you can even recall all the smells you had! Oh man how I miss those smells. I would love to have a wood burning stove again.

Putting up Christmas decorations is really a walk down memory lane for me too. Most of mine are homemade by my grandma, or other family members and myself. We grew up, if we wanted something we had to make it cause there was very little money. As kids we probably thought it was tough, but it really taught us valuable lessons.

The Christmas ornaments I grew up with would be so lovely to have. Don't know what happened to them. At least I still have my mind and sweet memories!

I may have had some ornaments from when I was growing up, but if I did they were lost in our house fire in 1994. All the decorations I had then are gone. A group of ladies from our church got donations of ornaments and brought them over to us that year, so we would have some. That was truly a blessing and I have most of those still, as well as others I've gotten.

Gosh, CeeJay I am so sorry to hear that you l lost your ornaments in a house fire. What kindness it was for your church gathered some replacements for you.
