Dawn, my last frost date is usually March 18 but this year it is March 22. It's 75 now so I can't see us having any freezing weather, but it is Texas, and it could freeze tomorrow.

Well, May 28 for us in Northern Michigan! We never plant veggies or flowers that are not frost tolerant until Memorial weekend. AND we have had frost in June.

We often have frost again in September so definitely choose items that do not require a long growing season or we are prepared to cover in a moment’s notice.

PS We have installed a high tunnel/hoop house: really helps us extend our growing season.

Garden On!

When asked “How are you?”, I reply, “Better than good!”

I already potted up my first wave of seedlings and have more to pot up and start this week. Our last frost date was 3/15 but they just upgrade us from zone 8a to 8b and it’s looking like no frost in sight!

Shennandoah, your seedlings are beautiful. Here's to you having a bumper crop this year.

For us on the NE side of the State, WA… the general rule is, no planting outside until Mothers Day,, or if there is no more snow on Mica Peak…
Unfortunately,,, this year my bulbs did not get the email and have been poking up through the soil… much to the delight of our resident deer…
