I'm here too! Happy Mother's Day! I spent today with my mom, who is living with Alzheimers in a residential care facility.

Here too. Just busy with my mom up for Mother's Day! Sun nite my eldest daughter took, me, her gma and middle sis to a dinner theatre. It was a fun play, great buffet! Laughed and laughed. Was a nice evening!Sat was my grandsons bday. Was fun also, little crazy with 15 kiddos running around and playing video games! They were having a blast! Blessings, Linda

Hello Farmgirls:

I am sitting in my living room with the sun shinning in. Grandkids taking a nap and waiting for the coffee to get done. One of my dear friends sent me a copy of "Where Women Create". Have you ladies had a chance to read, savor, and enjoy this magazine? It is out of this world. In fact MJ posted some info on a conference she will be making a presentation. This is in Minn, Spet 16, 17, & 18. I would love to attend. The magazine is full of articals from ladies all over the USA and their crafts, hobbies, passion. If you are not familiar with it pick up a copy. You will enjoy it from start to finish. The coffee pot is calling me - enjoy....your day.

Viola, Where Women Create sounds wonderful. Where did you friend find it? If there is a subscription card in the book, could you send it to me? I'd be glad to send you a postage paid envelope.

Thanks and Big Hugs, Brenda

Brenda:

My friend probley purchased it at Borders but here is the telephone number for customer service - 949 380-7318. It is only printed 4 times a year - but it is just so full if inspiration. Here is the website to visit about the convention: http://www.thecreativeconnectionevent.com/. It has articles on women from all walks of life that - I sit and just look and read. Go to the website and you will see what I mean.

Is everybody busy with their gardens and graduations, etc.? The only graduations in my family I couldn't or can't attend. One great-neice is graduating from high school in California and one neice has finished her classes for physicians assistant.

Our schools are out Monday. DD is so ready. She did find out today that she will have her job next year. Nothing like letting them wait until the last days. She's been so concerned, and finally can relax! And they didn't think they would be having summer school, which she works every year. But today they told them they were. She's so very much pleased and thankful.

Glad to hear that your daughter has a job for next year. We have 4 teachers at our site who won't know for sure until right before school starts.

The school I work at is out this next Wednesday. There are some people who won't be back and one found out he will be staying after all. I am glad because he has good control of his classes. He is firm but not mean.

You wonder what could happen in that time between June 1st and Aug ? That is so much pressure for them to carry all summer. Amy got your email and thank you so much for sending the corncob. Like one of the girls said I could just fix some corn and dry the cobs. Wasn't sure how long it would take to dry. I really do appreciate you sending me one. We don't hardly ever have corn because DH can't eat it. (stomach)

I've been away from my laptop since Wednesday morning. I've been volunteering at the Camp Horizon Church camp near Arkansas City, Kansas where my daughter works. She is working in the kitchen this summer so I went down to help for a couple days. I made 300 plus snickerdoodles yesterday. I plan to use it for one of community badges.

There were over 100 children this past week but the cookies were actually for the weekend. Hospice is having a weekend retreat for children who have lost a parent or someone close to them. They are renting and using the whole camp this weekend.
