Hey everyone,

I would be interested in reading and seeing what you are working on this month.

I've recently picked up knitting, again ... I used to be an avid knitter in my early 20's. I did not need another "hand" projects!!! I do a lot of hand embroidery, hand appliqué, wool/penny rugs, English Paper Piecing and it goes on. They all fight to be worked on! So, I did "NOT" need another projects ... but I became hooked on socks. Have you ever put on a pair of hand knitted socks? They are heaven for the tootsies!

I bought this funky wool "Frolicking feet" (Made in Maine) that uses size 4-6 needles. I could not find a sock pattern, so I designed my own. After many hours of knitting and ripping, I finally worked out the pattern. Love me that Mardi Gras green wool!

Once that pair is finished I will submit it as the last step to my knitting badge at the expert level. I would have a finished pair to show you but dd is sleeping and she has them on her feet!

So what are you working on! I would love to see and read up all about it!

Cheers!

I love it.

Darlene, they are so cute! How do you get them to turn orange? They look green in the mold.

BTW, thank you for the cyber card. So sweet to think of me.

Thank you!

The green was the lighting I think they are whitish.
I painted them orange and then put Pearl-Ex for the shine.. The hardest part is getting them out of the mold, I think I will try one with vegetable spray and see if it makes it greasy but it could be washed. I hadn't thought of that. I will try that next time. It is a lot of fun though.

Well I found out one thing about working with the hot glue if you spray varnish on it, it bubbles and melts the glue, so those two Pumpkins are no longer with us. I tried two more and put a sealer on them before I painted them and so far it is working.
Yay.

By the way Happy Columbus Day!

Thanks Darlene. Sock are easy to knit and so portable. Once you've put on a pair of hand knitted sock, the store bought ones just don't cut it anymore. So, I'm on a mission to knit me lots of pairs of socks! lol DH calls them my $150.00 socks! He calculates the labor in there! lol No matter, it's all about enjoying the process and that I am!

How are your pumpkins coming along?

Enjoy your day every one!

Indeed Darlene! And depending on the type of wool you get (must admit silk and merino wool feels soooooo nice on the tootsies) the cost is minimal. I'm just not one to sit idle, therefor might as well knit! ;)

Well, I finally finished my pair of sock!

Love how they turned out. Picture doesn't do justice to those colours. It's my second pair. The first pair (DD claimed for herself) was part of designing the pattern and it wasn't easy! lol Lots of ripping and starting over. I couldn't find a sock pattern for that gorgeous wool. Hum ... so I made my own. With this pair, I was testing my written instruction. I think it's all good! I have a couple more skeins of that yarn and plan on knitting more socks!

I did start another pair using the Cascade silk paint yarn. Those feel soooo good on my tootsies! I have two pairs knitted so far. They require much smaller needles than the other socks.

Thanks for allow me to share! Do any of you knit? Any quilters out there? Hand Embroiderer or cross stitchers? Just curious!

Catch you later! Cheers!
