Carole - congratulations to both you and your daughter! What an accomplishment and the start of something new :)
Denise - how is everyone in your area doing??? Praying things are beginning to get back to normal!
Winnie - oh how I long for Fall! My cousin-in-law/best friend lives in FL and headed up to ohio to visit her sister... she says the weather is night and day different up there! No humidity... can you imagine?
Alicia - I am so sorry to hear of your chick :( I know it is part of the "circle of life" but it is still so hard! |

Alicia, I am from Scituate, MA, just south of Boston on the shore. When in Boston, I think "musts are": The North End - Little Italy and there wonderful bakeries. Mikes is good, but touristy, there is a little mom and pop bakery on the block behind Mikes, but I cannot remember the name of it, it is really good. Quincy Market has every type of food you can imagine and some neat shops/venders. I am going up in September to visit my sister who still lives in Scituate. We are going to Martha's Vineyard for 3 days then up to Maine for a couple of days. It will be a girls trip this time :)! Hubby will stay home and tend to critters! Have a wonderful time, lots to see and do there! Hugs, Ruth |

Carole-Thinking of you. Hope everything is going well. Alicia-So sorry you lost one of your chicks, I lost one this week too, for no reason that I could see, it is never easy. Ruth-how wonderful to see you, sure have missed you. Denise- hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Winniw-Fall will be here before you know it!
Our temps have been high here lately too. Yesterday we worked cattle and rotatted them to some different pastures. We tried to start early before it got to hot, but things didn't go as planned, in other words the cattle did not want to cooperate so by the time we finished we were all over heated. Today it is catch up on household chores and watering the garden. Stay cool everyone.

Alicia, So sorry about your chick. :( I always hate when we lose one of our girls.
Sure nice to see you again Ruth!
Things are getting back to normal. I was reading Farmer's Almanac and it says we are supposed to have a hot dry summer. I don't know we keeping having these storms come through. We had a rain storm last night and it was just pouring buckets for hours. One of the raised beds that JT had built for dad, it is 4ft high on sawhorses, fell this morning so after church we called our sil and he came down to help us get it right again. Dad will know something happened because we had to change the plants around a bit. Thinned out some of his carrots. ;) Anyway the beds are quite heavy from the dirt and then with the added weight of the rain and the ground being soft just made it happen. At least things are growing.
Alicia, That is funny that you found that site right before I mentioned it. It may take a while took get approved but that is because he son helps her and I don't know how often they get to that sort of thing. When my daughter joined she waited 3 weeks. :(
Winnie, I know it is probably as hot as can be there in Florida. But Fall will be here before you know it. I love Fall. I need to start my fall crafting! |

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for what he has done. Philippians 4:6
Just follow God unquestioningly. Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.

| sabelle came down with a slight rash yesterday morning. She also developed a sore throat. Going by where the rash is the only research I have found that matches her symptoms is West Nile fever, a milder form of the virus. She could have been bit before camp, as it says within 14 days. It isn't contagious person to person. She said that she only got bit once at camp (that she knows of). She is ok, just feels lousy. Please pray it doesn't get worse, as it can do some nasty things to the brain. |

Alicia, so sorry about your little chick, hope you're doing ok. You must be so happy that your daughter did so well at camp! I know it was a tough decision getting her to go, but wasn't it a great thing for her! I'm so happy for you that she had fun, and that she's home!
Shannon, how is your son doing?
Carole, your "baby" is beautiful! What a wonderful time for your whole family! I'm also so glad they finally got those 2 escaped prisoners up your way. Everyone must be sleeping easier now!
Hi Ruth, Denise and Winnie, thanks for the tips! I haven't been up to "Beantown" in so many years! We're staying on the harbor, it should be great!

| Eeks Alicia! Remember that just because the "google doctor" says something, it doesn't mean that is what it is. With that said, do you have herbs to boost her immune system, such as echinacea? you can also feed her lots of raw garlic - either put it over her food or mince it and take it with raw honey... you can also give her garlic powder capsules, though it is not as potent as raw. I know you also use essential oils... thieves is helpful (you can also do herbs for that). Praying she feels better soon, and it is not West Nile! BUT if it is, praying her body fights it quickly and effectively! |

| Strep doesn't make sense, as you said her rash is on her stomach and back... strep with a rash is usually scarlet fever, but it usually starts on her neck and chest. Any way it is mono? |

| Alicia I have had West Nile, it can get nasty. I slept the whole summer away, lost a lot of weight, really bad aches and pains every where. It took me a long time to start feeling better. Please have her get a blood test to verify it . Praying she feels better soon |

Alicia - Glad you are getting her checked Alicia! Let us know what the doctor says! It could be a number of things and I'm so glad you did not write it off as just strep! (Hmmm not that strep is just strep, but.. well... you know what I am saying). As for losing your sweet Levi... know that a God who loves you and ALL of your children already knows what Isabelle is dealing with - trust Him to get you the treatment she needs and the strength to deal with it, no matter what it is!
Julie - so glad you pulled through the West Nile virus! I can only imagine the fear during that time! For you and your family! Praising God He saw you through! I personally have never encountered it, and can only imagine! When my now 6 yo was almost 2 and had meningitis and encephalitis, that was one of the things they tested her for. That and a plethora of other things!!!! It is so scary when your child is sick! Were you an adult when you had it or a child? With it being a virus, i wonder if you can get it again.... if it mutates enough much like the "common cold" which is actually a ton of different viruses that causes similar symptoms. Oh there are days I wish I had gone further in the microbiology field! |

| Scarlet Fever can start with a rash on the hands too. My daughter had it when she was young and that is where the rash was on her. My granddaughters just got over strep. They can pick up strep anywhere. I think I would get her checked out, but that is me. If it is strep she will need something for it. |
