Good Morning Farmgirl friends!
Shannon, I hope you get to the doctor and have your situation evaluated so you can get better soon! How are things settling down in the new home? Do the kids like the new location? Denise, so happy that you had a great weekend with family too! Darlene, your art journaling class sounds very interesting.
Hope everyone has a great start to this new week! |

Winnie - I have spoken with my doctor and she is going to put an antibiotic in for me. Probably a Z-pack. I feel kinda silly getting one, as I know it is viral, but at this pint, I need to be better before Emi is here, and I need to regain some of my strength!
Today I am trying to get the kids back started on their school. We had taken some time off, due to moving, so we desperately need to get back into our rhythm, for all of our sanity! |

| Cute apron with tractors. My doctor called late this afternoon. He says the stress test shows blockages. Next step is to visit with the cardiologist, then a trip to Fort Worth to get fixed. I will know more after I see her. With both granddaughters out of town this week, I hope to feel like cleaning house and doing a couple of projects. |

Keep us posted Marilyn on what the cardiologist recommends and don't push yourself too hard since you now know there are blockages in the coronary arteries to your heart. Those dust bunnies can just wait!
Shannon, I do hope you will be feeling better soon! I bet the kids are excited to get back to their routine of home and school after weeks of moving and transition. Sometimes, there is a peace about being in school because if just opens your world and stimulates your mind. Learning is fun, I think! |

Marilyn - No I have three boys and three girls, with the fourth girl due in about a month :) My oldest is 11 - she will be 12 the end of August. The next is a boy - age 9 (will be 10 in December), then an 8 yo boy, 6 yo girl, 4 yo boy, and 2 yo girl. Never a dull.... or quiet... moment around here ;) But what a blessing they each are! I am so sorry to hear about the blockages! I am thankful they have found them though! I must agree with Winnie - take it easy. The dust bunnies and cobwebs will still be there after the blockages are taken care of!!! They are "faithful" like that.
Winnie - The kids do seem to be liking getting into some type of routine, though right now it is not perfectly tweaked. With the oldest being in middle school, it means different curriculum for her, which the younger ones are not thrilled about... it means she will not be doing science with them any more! I am also giving her an hour each morning to "teach" the younger two some activities to go with their book... usually it will be doing a craft or cooking with them.
Today is going to be a "normal" day for us :) I am so looking forward to it! Nowhere to go. Nothing that "needs" to be done. Just live in the moment and do our "everyday" stuff. I have missed days like this! |

| I got a call this morning and went to see the cardiologist. They did another EKG. She thinks it may only be one artery. She complimented my doctor for ordering the stress test. She said my heart muscle is still good. When I left there I had a date for a sonogram, August 13 and a date for the procedure, August 14. She said I look good, I am healthy, etc. And waiting should not be a problem. She said that she and the other three doctors in her group do 30 of these procedures a day. Oh my. So I will not stress over dust bunnies. I will chill until then. Thanks. |

Shannon I hope your day turns out as you hope and you can relax with it. Marilyn I am glad that everything is going ok for you and now just relax and do something you like such as a crafty moment and chill as you relax. Ignore the dust bunnies. Have a sweet day you two!
Have a wonderful day to all my sweet sisters.

Hello everyone! I've just finished reading to catch up on the front porch. Shannon and Marilyn, I'm sorry you're both facing such challenges, but your cheerful, positive attitudes are inspiring. Alicia, hope everyone is on the mend. To all the travelers, hope your journey was or will be safe and happy!
We had a wonderful time in Martha's Vineyard. My daughter took several 4-generations photos with her "selfie-stick" but hasn't had time to send them to me yet. After recovering from the 9-hour drive and ferry ride to the island (quite a challenge with a 93-year-old and a 2-year-old!), we needed lots of R&R, and we sure got it. The weather was unbelievable, sunny and not too hot. We took Lily to the historic carousel, which she and my mom loved, went to the beach and just spent lots of family time. We mostly lived on salad and PB&J sandwiches! We didn't spend much on fancy meals or touristy things, but I did visit the Heath Hen, MV's quilt and yarn shop, and bought a bunch of island-grown merino wool -- gorgeous and fluffy soft!. We spent the last two days in Boston, where I went to college. I'm not nuts about cities, but my daughter enjoyed seeing her dad, and mom and I lived like a couple of movie stars in a fancy hotel. But the magic of the Vineyard is what made it so special! I still hold onto the dream if moving there someday. But, I am so happy, though to be back in touch with everyone! |
Happy Day! Peace in our hearts, peace in the world Amy (Sister#6098) www.danaherandcloud.com

Good morning,
Taking a break from my normal schedule to catch up on my fellow farmgal sisters. Sounds like you have all been a busy.
Darlene, how is that car shopping thing coming along? I do not like to shop - point final - lol So, when I buy a car, I hop into is, see if I like it and make the purchase. It always freaks the car sale's man out! Shock face! lol As for what I see on the other side of the fence, flat land. When I go for my power walk on Thursday, I will remember to take a picture. I do not live in the rocky part of Canada. Lots of farming around here.
Denise, Sound like a wonderful wedding. Weddings are such great opportunities to see family and friends.
Bonnie Ellis, Glad you are enjoying your birthday. Didn't you know that birthdays last a whole month? Your barn quilt trip sounds lovely. So much to see. Did you take any picture? Would love for your to post your favourite.
Marilyn, I have this cute visual of your grand daughter riding her Barney Rubble's Flintstones mobile to your house! Precious! I am glad that they found the problem and are quick to take care of it. I will agree with everyone, dust bunnies can wait. I just finished reading the book "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch (great lecture to watch, which was later turned into a book) and it makes me think that on our death bed, the "I should have cleaned my house more often" will not be on the top 1 million things on our life list! Let them roll, and if you're incline for a bit of exercise, pick one up! Word of advice, dust bunnies are easier to pick up if you let them grow! I speak from experience!
Amy, glad you had a wonderful trip. I have never been to Martha's Vineyard, it's on my bucket list! That wool sounds absolutely divine, I can just imagine how it feels!
Winnie, lovely apron! Thank you for sharing a picture!
Shannon, glad that things are getting back to normal. I hope you feel your normal self soon!
Alicia, Jamie, Katie, Marlee, Ruth, Sherry, Marlee and Julie, how are things going?
Sandra, Comment vas tu? Occuppe avec les enfants, la vie? Quand tu auras une minute, laissez nous savoir comment sa vas! <- just me showing off! lol
Both Pumpkin and DH are gone to VA to work on the Appalachian Project. I have the house to myself. Haaaaaa I so love a clean house and this is my moment to shine! But, you be proud, I usually spend a full day doing a massive cleaning, but this time, I didn't. Just enjoying the moment. Okay, I did do a bit of cleaning, but nothing like last year where it took all day (wash floors, walls etc....)
This week is the Clinton County Fair. I have never been so this year is the year I get to experience it. I love fairs! Tonight I am attending the Tractor Pull. I just love Tractor Pulls. Don't ask, I have no clue why. I was born and raise in a large city and yet, when I saw my first tractor pull at 35 years old, I fell in love! lol
On Friday is the "Painted Pony Championship Rodeo" I have no clue what to expect from this Rodeo but all I know is that it "should" involve cowboys! lol - Love me some cowboys! The first rodeo I experience was at the Calgary Stampede back in 1992! What a show that was! Lots of professional cowboys! Such a nice sight to see, a cowboy in chaps!
Well you all have a great day!
Farmgirl hug,

Carole, thanks for the link, can't wait to watch it, it sounds inspiring. And, I love your French message to Sandra, made me force myself to dredge up my high school French - and I did pretty well! And by the way, I also love those handsome cowboys!
Denise, I'm also interested to hear how you made out with the car. Car shopping stresses me out big time -- that's why I generally keep cars for 15-20 years!
Shannon, hope you're pacing yourself as much as possible with all you have to do.
Today was a good day for us. We found out when we got home that our beloved family doctor is retiring the end of September. He's an old-fashioned doctor who sees his own patients in the hospital and even makes house calls! But at almost 70, it's time for him to retire. So, I was able to get us all into the practice of a wonderful young doc who has covered for our doctor in the past. My daughter has also worked with him in the hospital and he is very nice. I knew lots of people are scrambling to find a new doctor, and feel fortunate that our family got in before he filled up. Whew! :) So that was my big accomplishment for the day, such as it is!

Amy, Glad you enjoyed your trip. Vacation time goes by quickly doesn't it? I believe Darlene is looking for a car.
I have been busy since we got home from our weekend. Still downsizing. I wonder does it ever end. I guess not unless I stop bringing things in. Lol. It is going well. I took 4 big bags of stuff to the thrift yesterday. I have another to go and have started on a second one. I am going through my craft stash. I know there are things I won't get to and there are things I want to spend the time getting done. So the sorting must be done to keep me on track. I dread the basement but I keep picturing my goal. |

| Well I haven't picked up many dust bunnies, but in the very early mornings, when it is still coolish (87 degrees) I have put three floats on water troughs for my son. One each day this week. He has always resisted using floats because he scrubs the tubs and troughs out frequently, but he did not object this time. It sure makes watering easier. I have been trying to help him while Hadlee and her mom are on their trip. He is out in this hot sun all day long. They just started a new home for a couple, and there is not a shade tree anywhere near the new structure. In fact he called me about three yesterday and told me my husband was sick and coming home. He was having a heat stroke. Cold packs, water, rest, and he is Fine! Well not exactly. Hard headed man. He was home at 12 noon. Oh well, I guess life would be dull if not for human beings and all of their quirks. I am glad July is leaving us at midnight. My son will be 51 on the 3rd of August. Brings back a flood of memories, good, sweet memories. I have told him many times that he is probably the only baby born in our hospital (town of 5,000) who was welcomed by eight women, sitting in chairs around my room, waiting for me to wake up so the nurse would bring him in. I had to hold him first, but they all wanted their turns. My husband's mom, grandmother, a host of great great aunts and good friends too. What a welcome for my sweet baby boy. |

Maryellen, happy birthday to your son.
On Wednesday, I went to the Clinton County Fair and watch the tractor pull, what fun it was. Some of these guys really know how to modify their tractors to make them quite powerful. There was even a corvette all modified to pull 6,200 pounds! Geeezzz, why would you want a vet to do that? lol

Had a blast cheering them on! I didn't end up going to the Painted Pony Rodeo, for one, no one could tell me what it was all about. The painted pony struck a funny cord with me. So I decided to stay home and get some much needed down time.
So, how are you all doing? |

Health concerns are our first priority or we won't be of much use to anyone. Take care of yourselves everyone. That event you went to Carol looks like a lot of fun. We're getting ready for a koi show here. My husband has 3 fish in competition. They're more work than cows. lol |
