I wanted to share with all of you in the HH. Dianna Hauf posted on Facebook, but not all Wildflowers are on Facebook. So I ask her if if could share it here with all Wildflowers and she said yes.
****Dianna we are so proud of you! I was wondering if I can get on your Spring 2024 calendar for you to visit me her in Oregon and help me set up my gardens. You will be very busy now so I wanted to make sure you can fit me in . LOL! ****
Here is what she posted on Facebook. Praise God, I made it through the course! With all the health issues and some personal ones, I wasn't sure! 69 hours volunteer work, book work, zoom classes and labs.. But what a joy to work with & learn from Megan Jones of the Alabama Extension dept and all the wonderful interns with me! I loved every moment and look forward to working in the community! Again, Thank You Father!#128591;#127996; I'm so grateful! For anyone else interested you have until the 30th of November to sign up for the spring class with coffee county, spring sign-ups for fall in pike county!! A must for those of you who love working with plants, trees, flowers, people, farming and learning about Alabama plant life!!

Congratulations Dianna! What an accomplishment. I have always wanted to take the master gardeners coarse, but know I will fall short in the hours required. Maybe when life slows down a bit. |

Oh Debbie, how'd you do that? lol! Thank you all so much! I sure was a happy camper! It was a HUGE accomplishment for me indeed! I think I am going to tackle a forestry program next plus look into a program the state has for growing wildflowers for the pollinators! Mr Carter from the Forestry division gave me all the links to study on it. I've ALWAYS wanted to use our pastureland, over 30 acres for a good cause and this just might be it if I can work it! My husband just got home this weekend and we are going to talk about it more. But oh how that would make me happy to help our pollinators ladies! We shall see how this adventure continues, God willing! Thank you so much again Debbie for all your encouraging emails and support! I'd love to get to Oregon and see you AND April!! Maybe one day! |

Oh Dianna :) congratulations!
It is quite an accomplishment I know. I became a Master Gardener in 2021. Now - somehow - I'm 2nd Vice President - chair of the Scholarship Committee - sub-chair of the Plant Sale Hospitality Crew - It's a whole new world of volunteering and not as much gardening as I expected. Once I've finished my board responsibilities, I hope to become a Master Naturalist.
I just joined the Native Plant Society - highly recommend that as it's a great resource and learning opportunity. Have fun and enjoy your accomplishment!

I love that Laura!!congratulations and you inspire me! I'd like to become a master naturalist too, on my list. I am in 2 different groups, 2 counties. Both have me active in presenting programs or arranging them. My next adventure will be Forest'her'in March! I love learning about all the different plants, native and not native. It has opened my eyes to a new way of gardening for sure and I love helping others!! All the best to you Laura!! Ty!! |
