That is a unique bucket list item! Maybe you'd get to know them if you leave them a note and some of those snow bunny cookies in the mailbox?

Swimming scares me too, no unpredictable surf entry races for me. Salem course has you swim with the current so my coach says we can float in a superman pose and clear the time cut off. Road biking has always been ridiculous to me with the spandex and the cult of buying expensive gear to go just a little faster (I'm pretty sure skipping a couple desserts would have an equal or greater impact on my speed and save me some money!). I'd like to learn how to mountain bike, but as I get older, I worry more about the consequences of taking a spill and my MTB hiking buddies have done nothing to allay these fears with their stories.

I'm not fast, but running is my favorite, and how great for you to have woods to run to close by! Are there trails through the woods as well? I started as a runner taking a required college PE course, then thought it would be fun to collect a marathon in every state (20 years later and only 47 more to go! haha). I found the overuse injuries catching up to me when I trained endurance in one sport, so I branched into biking and swimming since there is a big triathlon community to plug into out here. If we had real winters, I'm sure I'd have done the same, so no need to be so hard on yourself!

Heather, you need to go to the tractor store and tell them you are thinking of buying a Massey Ferguson Tractor and you would like to test drive one. Just like a car, why not right? Then just take it from there. Or like Debbie says just nicely ask your neighbor to drive their.ma, I doubt they would say no.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

There's a used tractor dealer not too far from us that leaves the keys in all the tractors. You just hop in and drive it around. I've driven a couple Massey's there :) If the price tag wasn't close to half a million dollars for the tractor and planter they're using I'd be tempted to ask to drive LOL! I'd settle for just a ride :) They don't live nearby or I would bribe them with some cookies in the mailbox!

We sort of have some trails though the woods - but it's just from where my father in law drives when cutting fire wood. It's pretty wet and swampy in spots so the mosquitoes and deer flies are terrible in the summer. If I get to running to the woods and back regularly enough I'll work up to a trip through the woods :)

I was shocked at the price of a tractor and some of the equipment that you can get with it. My brother was telling us about the one he got and I couldn't believe how expensive. I told JT we might end up with the one from Green Acres if we aren't careful with our budget. It's going to take alot more saving.

It's crazy for sure! The thing that I thought was just insane was the price of some USED tires at the dealer I mentioned before.

This was my test drive :)

Thanks ladies :)

Denise - those were some really big tires, but I was shocked! Just get a smaller tractor then it won't be so bad Ha! Ha!

Still picking my jaw up off the floor on used tire prices. But it looks like the test drive was a success! What a smile!

Whoops - I hit the wrong button!

If you guessed the woods searching for more violets you're right!

Some are brewing for jelly tomorrow:

Some are soaking in alcohol for a tincture:

And some are drying to get put in oil tomorrow:

I'm glad the thunderstorm went around us and I was able to get down there today. It was pretty slim picking. They're pretty much done now.

This Korean Lilac sits outside my craft room window. It’s my favorite time of year to have the windows open as the fragrance from the bush fills the air! I’m inviting you to join me! Bring your favorite spring beverage as laughter and quiet conversation surround us, we can all just breathe in the intoxicating smell of this bush. My mother-in -law (who turned 80 yesterday!) bought this bush for me when my mom passed in 2001.

Karen :)

Karen - how wonderful that you can open the windows and enjoy the lilac's fragrance! My back yard smells heavenly, but it's too cold to open my windows.

Mine's a bit discombobulated from the tree falling on it, but it survived and is full of blooms this year. My parents bought this one for us shortly after we were married. It's grown a lot since then!

Happy birthday to your mother in law! Did you have a party for her?

Your lilacs are beautiful, girls! Mine are a month early and are SO full and fragrant this year! I think they are my favorite and I just wish they lasted longer.

I thought this moon was special and the Wildflowers would like to know about it.
A Full Moon to Remember #127765;

On the night of May 12, look up and witness May’s Full Moon in all its glory — known as the Flower Moon, a name given by Native American tribes to mark the blooming of wildflowers across the Northern Hemisphere.

It will be a micromoon, meaning the Moon will reach its full phase around its apogee, the farthest point in its orbit around the Earth.

#127800; Fun fact: It’s called the “Flower Moon” because it coincides with the peak of spring blossoms.

Big Hugs,

I've never grown any so I don't know if the plant is as good as the perfume, but I love the smell of jasmine. One day I'll find some to grow and see what the plants smell like.

We had 2 more calves born this weekend:

A baby boy.

And finally another baby girl - who didn't want to stand still and have her picture taken. She's a butter! Have to watch your knees around her.

I forgot to add this one. It finally dried up enough to get the cows out to the pasture:

There were udders flopping like crazy LOL! They were doing the happy dance.

Buddy decided to stay behind the electric fence for a bit and watch the show at a safe distance:
