Heather how sweet of him! Sounds like something JT and I would do. He spoils me.

Debbie K - I'm going to be making that coconut pie this weekend. In the directions is says to add vanilla but the ingredients don't list the vanilla. Can you check how much vanilla I need to use? Thanks! I'm excited to try it!!!!

Thanks Debbie! I hear you - I wanted coconut and Nathan didn't. That's why I'm making 2 pies LOL! Coconut for me and lemon meringue for him :)

You should have! I shared a piece with my mother in law. The rest of the pie was mine :) Sadly, the last piece will be eaten today. That was a delicious pie. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe. I think I could just make the filling and put it in a bowl.

Whew - it was a busy, but fun day today. Yesterday we had 2 new calves born (one bull and one heifer) I'll post pictures of soon. One is a first timer so this morning was her very first milking. It wasn't too bad, but it slowed us down a bit. Usually that's not a problem, but today my niece was performing in a dance competition in Toledo. It's an hour an half drive and we needed to be there at 9:30am. (yup, we had to start very early!) We made it with just a few minutes to spare before she performed her solo ballet routine. We then had some lunch and visited a bit until she had to get ready for her group dances. She had 2 groups but we were only able to stay and watch one. They live in Michigan so we don't usually get to watch her. Today was a treat for all of us. She really enjoyed having us there and we really enjoyed watching! What's everyone else doing this weekend?

I spent Friday morning and Saturday helping a friend of my daughter's pack up her apartment. Took a few loads of boxes to a storage unit for her. In the afternoon the guys took most of the furniture over. She has a few days until she can get in to her new place, so she is staying with us until probably Wednesday.
Have my finger in a splint to protect it because while we were packing her up I jammed it trying to move something. This gal is a medic so she wrapped it right away to avoid swelling. It still swelled up and I can't bend it. I'm sure it will be fine once that goes down and it is no longer stiff. But we had a good time helping her. Hope you all had a great Easter. We were in PA with JT's family. Had car trouble coming home and had to stay an extra day. That's a story for a different day. Enjoy your Sunday Wildflowers!

Oh Heather I am happy you were able to get away to watch your Neices Ballet recital. Family time is the best.
Denise I hope your finger gets better soon, how it must hurt. Ice is the best for it and it does make it feel better.
I am trying to teach myself to draw simple things like, flowers and birds. It is going to take me awhile to get anywhere near good. But, I have about 19 cards I want to make for our May Card Swap, so I am getting lots of practice. And I am having fun.
Have a Beautiful Sunday Wildflowers.

Denise - Ouch! I hope your finger is better soon.

Debbie - I know the feeling. I can do a lot of things but draw and paint is not one of them LOL! As long as you're having fun that's all that matters :)

Cute! She looks like she's having fun.
So lucky, Denise, to have a medic 'on hand!'
I whiled away most of Sunday indoors with my bike clamped into a stationary trainer, avoiding ominous clouds. (3.5 hours/40 miles)

I hope you don't have too many of those indoor training days. That sounds like a long time to ride staring at the walls LOL! How long are you working up to riding? I think I remember you saying you were training for an iron man, but my brain isn't working the best right now so I could be wrong.

Yay the swelling in the finger is starting to go down. I can't bend it yet but I'm all for a little progress. It is on a small splint because I don't want to hit it on something which inevitably I will do and have already done.

I forgot you were training Christine. Keep up the great work!

Glad the swelling is going down, hopefully you get mobility back soon! 12 miles is my happy long distance ride too, maybe with a leisurely stop at a favorite coffee shop. I'm looking forward to mellowing out when I wrap up this "Let's Get Physical" badge series. Heather is totally overestimating me, this is only a half Ironman (Salem 70.3 in July). 56 miles will fly by A LOT faster with Oregon scenery, let's just hope it isn't raining.

"Only a half ironman" There's no ONLY about it! That's quite a major accomplishment in my book!!! I'm not sure I could make it a half 5K right now LOL! And there's no biking or swimming in that. When I was training for the marathon I ran, I thought it would be awesome to do an ironman but I'm not a good swimmer and I don't have that much time to train. Instead I did the complete opposite. I took a break and never consistently got going again :( I'm hoping once rainy season is over to start running to the woods and back at least a couple times a week. I really did enjoy it. What do you like best - the running, swimming, or biking?

Ever since I was a little girl I've wanted a Massey Ferguson tractor. I don't have on yet, but right now there's one that keeps going past my living room window :) They're planting the field across the road and they have a beautiful Massey Ferguson. If I knew them better I'd go ask for a ride!
