For the past few days I have been working on UFO projects. I finished a quilt top to go with a book for our youngest grandson. The book is The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt and I made a quilt to go with the book for him for Halloween. And another of my Quilter friends posted on Facebook a few days ago that this author has written another book about the same little ghost and it’s during Christmas. So there will be two books that go with the Quilt. I still want to make a bag out of the leftover squares to go with the books and the quilt.

I am also working on a Bonnie Hunter winter tablerunner I started in 2020. I found it while looking for something else the other day. It is 5 scrappy stripped blues trees with piano key borders. I had most of the stripped pieces made, but they weren’t all cut yet. I will post pictures as soon as I get at least one of the 5 trees done.
What are you working on? |

I have a couple more UFOs to finish for the guild list. Enough scrappy log cabin blocks to finish a top, One more carpenter's wheel for a top, and figure out what to do with 54- 2 1/2 x 3 ½ swap blocks. And somewhere is a baby quilt that I started to put prairie points on; I think I need a refresher course. |

I have never done prairie points, Judith. I would definitely need directions. LOL!
My current UFO list is huge, Judith, and definitely not complete. I keep finding more, and they include knitting, crochet, quilting and misc. Here is the start of it: * Pine Tree Points TR (working on now). Here is pix of 1 of 5 trees. * 7 quilts that just need binding (1 has been on our bed for over a year!) * 3 Quilted clothing items: from old quilts: Vest, Jacket, Jeans Skirt * St Kitts batik WH * Labyrinth Walk Kit * Papa’s Truck - Kaffe WH kit * Selvage Stars quilt (from swap) * Jiffy Jelly Quilt - Moda pattern and jelly roll * Snow Globe quilt (swap) * 10” Christmas blocks (swap) (will be Christmas gift for son and wife) * Santa in the Trees quilt (swapped tree fabrics) * Patriotic quilt (local BOM group) * Halloween Cat WH (self kitted fabrics) * Witches Boots WH (self kitted fabrics) * 9-patch blocks quilt (from thrift shop) * Santa Claus TR/WH kit * Peace on Earth WH kit

I need to make a new list for this year. I've uncovered some projects I totally forgot about. New list coming soon! |

A list is a great idea! I need to start one for this year. There are lots of things in my stash that were bought for a specific project that I've never started yet. Need to go through things and figure out what I want to do and what I need to pass along. Maybe if I have everything together I'd be more apt to do them. I have material I bought years and years ago to make a log cabin quilt that I haven't started as well as some wall hangings. |

I just lost a looooong post here. I will try again.
I love having a UFO list - it is not set in stone and I add things to it as I uncover them when looking for something else. LOL!
I am working on the blue trees tablerunner(s) now. I decided the 5 trees together made too long a tablerunner, so decided to make 2 - one with 3 trees and the other with 2. They will be similar but different. The borders called for in the pattern are lots of pieces like the tree layers only some smaller. They do make it nice. I have half of them on the larger TR and hope to finish both of them next week.
After the tablerunners are done I'd like to add borders on a batiq panel I bought in St. Kitts. A package of batiq I purchased at the same shop several years ago (and haven't used yet) are not the same colors, so I have other batiq pieces that coordinate. Yay!
Then I want to make a skirt or 2 or 3. * I bought 2 bright fabrics in St. Maartens (I think that was the place) and I want to make a couple skirts for this Spring and Summer. The designs are bright and bold and I think they will make up nicely. * I also found a pattern I bought years ago that I'd like to make with denim and quilt pieces.

I have tons of cross stitch, crochet, knitting, slow stitching and quilting projects I'd like to get done. Ned to get some motivation. If it weren't for the swaps I probably wouldn't do much of aof it. it. I do have one small thing I need to finish up for a badge soon. |

I really want to start some slow stitching. What kind of projects are on your list, Denise? I'm trying to gather laces, doilies, beads, buttons, trims, etc. to make something. I have a few small examples of what I "think" slow stitching is, and I saw Judith's either in this post or another. Do you have printed patterns? Or just sew? |

Actually few I have are kits a couple different farmgirls sent me. So everything is in it. I haven't even looked at them recently. |

I think slow stitch is more of a philosophy and practice than a kit. It's about just slowing down, relaxing, and taking your time. You can use any of your sewing for slow stitching. Boro is one Japanese method that was originally for mending that is used now for mending and decoration. Indian Kantha is another way to do slow stithing. |

I think the kits are just something easy to get started. |

Google says:
Slow stitching is a mindful craft that involves using needle and thread to create art. It's a meditative practice that can help quiet the mind and promote a sense of flow. How it's done Start with a fabric collage, Sew the pieces together without following a set pattern, Celebrate imperfections, and Enjoy the process of stitching. Benefits Mindfulness: Slow stitching can help you focus on the present moment and quiet your mind Creativity: You can use your creativity to create art Sustainability: You can use up old clothes and fabrics Self-improvement: You can develop a sense of community and understanding of the industry and its history |

I agree, Judith. I have lots of bits and pieces for slow stitching, and I even got some Kantha fabrics off Amazon for decorating some denim shirts I was given. I think I will just start with what I have.
I liked the examples you did.

YAY! I finished the 2 tablerunner tops. I will give to my longarm quilter on Thursday at quilting.

Now I have to decide what my next month UFO project will be. |

Beautiful Linda! Love the trees. I have several UFOs left to finish from my list and found a couple more when moving things around in the sewing room. I think it never ends. |

Lol! the UFOs are like rabbit - they constantly breed more.
If I just made a list of kits or patterns I have that I want to make it would be over 50 at least. |
