As long as there is not a tornado, I love a summer thunderstorm. This was a few days ago. The lighting was non-stop!

It is really pretty, but you are right Heather no tornados. We love thunder storms too so magical!

Heather we had the storms go through but no lightening such thunder and heavy rain.

Y’all!!! We just got back from NC on Sunday afternoon after being gone a week. We went out to check our little garden and the neighbors came out to chat. It was a beautiful sunny and breezy day. Not a cloud in the sky. So we are standing in the yard catching up with each other, when out of the blue thunder boomed loudly like a slap! No slow rumble building in sound, just BAM! It scared us all so bad we ran to the house. We learned later that some ladies were playing cards at the clubhouse and saw lightning strike a pole out front and then bounce across the parking lot. I have never been so scared in my life, it was so close. It was about an hour later when the clouds came and started raining. Just unbelievable! We didn’t lose power though, just blinked.

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Wow, Wanda Sue! I know I would have been scared too, and I am sure it was loud!

We had a tree get struck by lightning once so I know what you're talking about! It's intense. Glad you were safe!!!!

Oh Gosh, Wanda Sue, I can relate! I don't do thunderstorms, was traumatize at a young age when a lightning bolt hit a home my dad built a couple neighborhoods over, struck it, split it right down the middle. No one was home, thankfully. We had just returned home from a road trip across country to our own home which was arson'd while on vacation, so we were staying in a little travel trailer in our driveway while we repaired the home. I was in the front of the travel trailer, watching the storm thru all the front windows then it struck. The largest, most powerful boom I have ever felt in my life. There are times I still cry when we're experiencing rumbles, but have had to face this fear over the last 22 years since my firstborn, had to put on a brave face. I would tell my boys it was Mr. Brown upstairs moving furniture. GULP. HA!

Five year old Hazel is not a fan of storms, especially if we lose power. I told her after our last storm and she was talking about how LOUD it was and it kept her awake that is was just the angels bowling…and the louder it was, the more pins they had knocked over :). Her eyes got huge and then she just cracked up! Haha

Now I will think about Mr. Brown and the bowling Angels too! haha.

Thunder is really rare here, but the booms of illegal fireworks spook me, especially after I watched a rogue one sail over our fence and land in my compost heap, freshly topped off with shredded junk mail. My watering can and rain barrel were working overtime for a few minutes there. I think Mexico won a close soccer match because it was going off a few nights ago.
