It was overcast and rainy yesterday afternoon/evening so it didn't seem like the longest day. I look forward to summer because it is a slow time. Not so busy with school for the grands so we get to spend more time together.

Happy Summer everyone! It's felt like summer here for a while but I am happy to kick off summer officially. I started a cross stitch called Summer ABCs yesterday and hope to finish it this summer (ha!)

We have been blessed by rain - makes the humidity unbearable but it's totally worth it!

Summer - my favorite time of year - the lazy dog days of summer - summer breezes, hammocks, a good book, picnics, barefoot in my garden, fresh berries, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, driving our back country roads, hitting all the farmstands, sprinklers, watching my garden grow, fresh harvests. This year, it's catching the little pack rat who has butcher'ed all my garden starts for the 3rd time. My hubby's to do list item!

Summer has definitely decided to show up here. We are expecting high in triple digits this week. Phew!

I celebrated with not one but 2 flat white espressos at both locations of my favorite coffee shop. Longest day, indeed!

Has anyone marked where they get sun in their gardens on the shortest and longest days? I always mean to so I don't plant things where the sun never shines, and then forget that means I have to clear the calendar for a staycation to pull it off.
