Posted - Sep 10 2009 : 8:47:11 PM Hi - I grow grapes. We harvested about 80 lbs - I made juice, started some wine and found a recipe to "capture" bread yeast off of grapes for sour dough bread. It is yummy - the recipe and a picture is on my blog.http://www.behealthyworkfromhome.com

Posted - Sep 11 2009 : 06:39:38 AM That is cool - I have grapes that we never know what to do with besides making juice. I should try this captured yeast thing - sounds fairly easy. Thanks for sharing.

Posted - Sep 11 2009 : 01:07:07 AM Hi Gloria and welcome to the forum! That is just awesome! Who'd a thunk? I bet your bread is yummy. Have you tried Mary Jane's sourdough starter? Its under the farm kitchen thread. You might like that too. My hubby calls it my "garbage bread" cause he never knows what I'll put in it. LOL It's really nice to have you here and your blog is very informative!
