Posted - Mar 02 2013 : 04:55:02 AM I got the new and improved Cluck yesterday and all I can say is WOW! 80+ pages of Farmgirl Gorgeousness. What do you all think of it? I like it but it seems to have lots of advertisements and shopping links. I understand the economic need for ads but in this tough economy I don't think we need all that beautiful temptation thrown at us. Other than that I still enjoyed all the articles and how to's and welcome CJ to the group of contributors.

Posted - Mar 08 2013 : 07:18:30 AM Meg,
I just finally got around to reading the new Sister Issue. Please say hello to Willow. :) What a small world! Her dad married my husband and I in 2001 and she was friends with one of my husband's best friends, Seth. She was an absolute sweetheart the one chance I got to meet her.

Posted - Mar 05 2013 : 10:32:39 AM Thanks so much, Candace. I think you'll love the hoodie. Mom and I LOVE ours! Happy shopping!
And we so appreciate all your feedback. This was a labor of love and we really are proud to share it.
Sometimes ... when we get something new out the door to all our wonderful farmgirls, I feel a bit like my six-year-old presenting me with her completed homework. Hope we did it right, maybe we'll even get a WOW sticker, and it might hang above the chalk board even.
Thanks ladies!

Posted - Mar 05 2013 : 08:41:13 AM Love, love, love the new Cluck...the Sister issue! I've been having so much fun reading it in the evenings with a cup of tea. I like the ads and consider them window shopping. They get added to my "thinking about it" list. At the top of my wish list though is the Sister Hoodie! I've been looking for years for a good hoodie that is 100% cotton. I'm so glad Meggan did the work for us and found a great one!

I can't really speak much to the Nook or Kindle, but nothing substantial has changed in relation to the Cluck / MaryJanesFarm Sister Issue except its name and size. If you were able to view the PDF version on your Nook at some point previously, the only aspect of the Cluck that has changed with this last edition, beyond its size, is that we updated our design programs. It was a much needed update. We jumped 5 versions. But that's been a few months ago now.
Regardless, our newer versions may be saving the PDF for the Cluck in some way that the Nook doesn't like. There's a setting for compatibility when saving PDFs, which I have set to Acrobat 6 (Adobe is currently on Acrobat 10 and 11 for Acrobat Reader, I believe). However, that's set the same as I've had it for a long while now. It might require quite a bit of digging to find out what the Nook needs in a PDF.
I do know that for eBooks some formats (ePub) are rather archaic in how they work. Maybe that makes the Nook developers think it's OK to design for only really old formats. !?? But, I doubt that, and I do know it's difficult to keep up with all the latest in technology, and B&N may not have updated the Nook yet to handle something that our design programs are doing.
But that's all conjecture, and neither here nor there for you and reading the Cluck/Sister Issue! It does work on your Kindle, though, and that's good news! You'll have that for now, at least, until I happen across what the cause might be, or something else changes.

Posted - Mar 03 2013 : 09:21:16 AM Nancy, The Cluck is sent to you in an email with a link to view it,and you can do a PDF download and print any or all of it. It is beautiful with wonderful art/graphics, but it WILL consume an incredible amount of print cartridge ink!! You will love it and I hope you get to see one soon! CJ

Posted - Mar 03 2013 : 06:13:05 AM Nancy, Welcome to the Sisterhood! My guess is that you probably won't automatically receive this issue of the Cluck. Perhaps if you go back to MaryJane's post and send her an email to the email address she listed there, letting her know you've joined the sisterhood and want your name added to the list, etc. that would help. And, if you want to receive the current issue that we're all chatting about, just ask about getting that one sent to you as well. Hope that helps! Again, welcome! CJ
