I go out and sit with her every afternoon and make sure she is eating and drinking she must be pretty old is all I can figure but she is a sweetie. She doesnt seem to have any other health problems thank goodness. Thanks girls for your input. Blessings,Karen

Posted - Jul 26 2010 : 4:42:47 PM I am sure that anything with eyes (well, most things anyway) can develop cataracts. Parrots certainly do, so it wouldn't be surprising for a chicken to develop them, though I wonder why, unless she is pretty old.

Posted - Jul 26 2010 : 11:49:16 AM I have never heard of chickens with cataracts, but I have seen parrots with them, so I am sure its possible. Like with anyone that is blind, their other senses are increased, make sure she knows where the food and water are, and don't ever move them, make sure she is not being picked on, and that she does not have other health problems, Good luck...
