Posted - Feb 07 2011 : 10:42:04 PM I invite all those out there who want to better themselves to join me. I have high cholesterol and am giving myself 6 months to whip myself in shape and make better more healthful decisions with diet and to keep on top of medications. All-around take better care of myself. I hope I can inspire someone by taking on this challange.
Lord knows I will need all the encouragment I can get! This will be hard for me. I plan on keeping track of my progress every month till August, but am offering an incentive to my readers for February since the first month will be the hardest. Visit my blog for more details.

Posted - Feb 09 2011 : 1:49:01 PM Robin, Yes I just started taking 1000mg of Omega-3 as well as eating Cheerios and Rolled Oats and avoiding fast food--my weakness. My Dr. wanted me to take Niacin too, but even the "no flush" makes me flush and I feel really yucky when I flush.

Posted - Feb 09 2011 : 10:41:48 AM Are you taking a fish oil supplement? I take 4 1200mg capsules a day. It helped lower my cholesterol as did watching my diet and eating more oats. |

Posted - Feb 08 2011 : 10:48:27 AM just remember.....even "small" changes can create big results.....maybe start out, for example, changing your breakfast. if you normally have something with eggs and bacon----switch to cheerios with skim milk....that supposedly helps with your cholesterol right away!! i know how tough it is, i feel like i've been on a diet forever. but i find that as soon as i actually apply "some" thought to what i'm eating or doing, i actually do move (even though it might be ever so slight!) in the right direction! good luck!! sue |
