Posted - May 29 2011 : 2:43:04 PM I have lost my jar lifter and have limped along all winter, burning my fingers, but now that spring is here, I really need one. When I look for them in the store, it's just as part of a set and it's more $$ than I want to pay (I don't need the other items!) If anyone has one they'd like to trade, I'd love it! Thanks in advance! :)

Posted - Jun 30 2011 : 2:06:03 PM I friend uses one of those silicone oven mitts. She just reachs in, and graps the jar. Also, she uses it for corn on the cob, that she boils!!! |

Posted - Jun 07 2011 : 11:00:20 PM We just got 2 Menard's here in Wichita and they are a steal on canning supplies. I bought a lot of the 1/2 gallon jars to make ginger bugs, and Kombucha.

Posted - Jun 04 2011 : 05:08:51 AM We just bought one for my mother-in-law at Walmart. They had a canning section, and you can just get that one piece. Also saw them at Ace Hardware.
