Posted - Feb 18 2010 : 8:40:50 PM thank you for your warm welcome. I live in a small town near Roanoke VA. The house I live in was built in 1830's. It was the second house built in town. We still have the original kitchen; it is now our garden shed. We have 1.3 acres. Alas, it is not a farm. I am expanding my veg & herb gardens each year. We have raspberries, currants, and a fig tree, as well. I love heirloom tomatoes. I am connected to a nice network of young independent farmers. I get wonderful meat, eggs and fresh milk. I know the name of the cow. A funny anecdote. I was visiting my friend. We were sitting in her dining room. I looked out of the window and CoCo the cow was looking back at me.
