I finally made it to the Farmgirl Connection, thanks to my neighbor and friend Karen! Thanks, Karen.

I'm a farmgirl at heart, never lived in the city, just couldn't be me. I grew up with farm animals and still have just a few. Two horses, yard ornaments, I call 'em. Three dogs, (one thanks to Karen's son), two cats and the creatures of the wild. I wish I had a farm yard full, just don't seem to have the time.

We live on the side of a very small mountain (more like a hill) in west central Georgia, called Meansville, on a country dirt road.

I heard a joke the other day from a Meansville man. He said, "People always used to ask me when I would tell them I was from Meansville, if the people there are mean. I'd say yeah! they're mean. We have a Rough Street. I live on Rough Street, the further you go down the street the rougher they get. I live in the last house!" Pretty funny, huh? I don't think they're all mean, but there are a few. Thankfully, I'm not one of 'em.

I look forward to my time here and all the connections and friends I will meet. It will take me a while to figure it all out, but slowly and surely maybe I will.

About me, I'm 54, married to one guy for almost 35 years, next month. Woot! Woot! We have 2 great kids, a daughter (and son-in-law), 25, and a son, 17. Our daughter lives about 16 miles away and hand raises yorkies for a living. Our son is at home and working on finishing school. He plans on going to school for ATV training and wants to open his own 4 wheeler/motorcycle repair shop one day. We have the prettiest granddaughter who's 4 and full of life.

I work part time in a job that I'm not crazy about and am trying to come home full time and work from home. I am a Pampered Chef consultant and love it. I also am an independent distributor for a nutritional product which has made a great difference in my husband's life. I sell stuff on etsy.com, under sherylswriteaway and when I can figure it out I'll post a link to my websites.

I don't do as much farmgirling as I'd like too, but in the past have been an active farmer raising and canning and freezing my own produce. There's nothing like a home grown Ga tomato!

I'm blessed beyond measure, I know. I still have both my parents who are active and still pretty healthy. I've never had to deal with a loss in my family circle other than a grandparent or aunt or uncle, and for that I count my blessings! My family has more than enough on the table each day and a warm bed to sleep in at night. My God does supply all my need and I don't thank Him enough.

Well that's a little about me, I could go on and on. I love the simple country life and love to connect with others who share the same. We love to camp and get close to God through the beauty He created, if we will take the time to stop and see it. I wish we had more camping time!

By the way, it is the height of peach season right now, and girl let me tell you, these Georgian peach farmer's know how to grow 'em. There's nothing prettier than those peach trees blooming up the highway in the freshness of spring.

Gotta go for now, 'fixin' supper' is calling my name. I'll be back again later. Happy farmin' girls!

Hey Diane! Well you're my second farmgirl friend! Did your peaches really come from GA? I love them too! Nothing like homemade peach ice cream, yummmmm!!!!!!! That would need to be Wisconsin cream, no doubt! I think that's what ya'll are known for!

Hey Sarah! I love your neck of the woods. I have a niece up there at Global Youth Ministries. I think it's in Ellijay. I've been to Ringgold. I think you're up there near Cloudland Canyon State Park. Ringgold is where Dolly Parton got married, I think! I consider you my first farmgirl friend, other than Karen who introduced me to this place! Have a good week!!!
