Posted - Feb 09 2012 : 1:13:25 PM Hi all,
I've been reading MJF magazine for about 2 years now and I been in the "sisterhood" for several months. I've just been looking around and reading everybody's posts, but haven't jumped in myself until today... I'm a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 4 beautiful girls. I've moved around a bit...I was born in MA, live in CA most of my life with some stints in NV, and CO, but I now live in OK. I learned about gardening and weeding practically before I could walk; my father was raised on a farm, so we almost always had some kind of garden going; inside and out and in all seasons. My grandmother always said that I must have dirt mixed with the blood running through my veins. I was rather proud of that and quite sure it was true. I remember sticking my finger with a needle once just to see if I could see the dirt... Here's to new friends!!!

Posted - Feb 15 2012 : 12:11:39 PM Hello all. Thank you to all the new "welcomes"; this is so much fun. I go through a kind of withdrawal on the weekend when I can log on and see what all my sisters are up to.
I know what you mean, Linda, about having a nice letter written... I wrote a nice response to you all on Monday and the power gliched here and it was all gone. :( I didn't have time to start over either, so here's my do over...lol
Jeannie, let me tell you how I became cooknnana... My last name is cook and I love to cook. I've had many people, co-workers, church members, neighbors, beg me to cook for them. When I became a grandmother I decided that as I was named for my great grand mother, whom I adored, I would also use her "grandmother" name, which was Nana. When my oldest granddaughter was about 5 I had made her birthday cake, from scratch, and she announced to all her guests that the bestest cookn nana in the world made her cake. It stuck; I've been cooknnana ever since.

Posted - Feb 11 2012 : 10:09:53 AM Welcome! I used to welcome new farm girls on a regular basis and then things got so busy in my Etsy shop and website I have neglected this area. So, I am trying to improve.
My Mom loved to garden when I was growing up. But, she was awful at growing a house plant. I thankfully inherited a green thumb and her gardening skills. Here is my latest post about my website. I am very excited about it.

Posted - Feb 10 2012 : 10:01:11 AM Hi all,
Thank you so much for your warm welcome. I haven't had so much human interaction in a long time; I think I will just swim in it until my fingers get all pruny. I love it; thanks again.
Oh, by the way, Marcy...I'm originally from MA and I just loved visiting RI; its gorgeous!
I've been to NY too, but I'm afraid I've never heard of Patchogue; how do you pronounce that?
