Posted - Jan 08 2016 : 06:12:05 AM Hello Farmgirls! I've been away for over 5 years - not sure why though. Was telling a friend this morning about the forum and felt homesick. I'm a nurse, wife, mom, and grandma. Last spring I was diagnosed with diabetes. I immediately switched to a vegan diet and started exercising. In 3 months, my A1C went from 11.2 to 5.8 (only .1 above normal). Three months later, it was down to 5.6. I'm almost completely off my medications (with physician supervision). I still hate exercising but I love what it's doing for my health. Retirement is on the horizon and I want to be healthy so we can manage a very small homestead to raise our own crops. Scrapbooking is still my passion. I'm hosting a handmade postcard swap so feel free to join in!
