Would you please remember my Pastor's wife Christy who is undergoing surgery this morning for cancer of her breast. She is mid 30's, has 4 children, with the youngest 6 months old, and her father died unexpectedly right before Thanksgiving. It seems to be one thing after another. She has such a tender heart. I know God is in control, but I know she and Jeromy would appreciate support from her fellow "sisters" across the land.
See the last comment by me on page 4. Thank you so much!

A note today from Christy to us all....

I want to be normal. Chemo robs me of this. My brain wants to garden and shop and so much more but my body says these drugs are very powerful and killing off so much of the good things in your body. I did weight lifting with Danny and Jeromy Tuesday (really light stuff) and then I weeded. It left me exhausted Wednesday. My body has a tough time recovering from the fatigue. Please pray for me, I am only one point away from needing another transfusion and i still have 8 more Taxol treatments. I am so greatful that I am as far as I am into this process. I can begin to see the finish line instead of needing to cover my head because I am so overwhelmed with feeling ill. Thank you to everyone who has loved my family and me and offered encouraging words and practical help. I could never fight cancer alone. I love you all.

Thank you so much ladies. These problems can soon be forgotten by those whom are not affected, but constantly with the one who is. I so appreciate your prayers for Christy and Colleen, and I know that God looks lovingly on you all knowing that the scripture "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35) is truly fulfilled. To pray for people you don't even know is wonderful.

Lifting them both (all the family too) in prayer. This is so hard for everyone, the one dealing with treatment, the ones watching and feeling helpless - oh my - so many prayers needed! I will add her to our prayer list in Sunday School tomorrow!
Hugs and prayers,

I guess this is normal for some, but Christy's red blood cells have been depleted, so she is very anemic, and has been going in for blood transfusions. She tries to be positive, Jeromy is a big help, but being extremely tired, I know this is hard. Please just remember her with a little prayer now and then. There are so many to pray for. Thank you!

Thank you for the cards that you have sent Christy & Colleen. Christy left us a message that I would like to share with you.

"I had my last chemo of this round today. Will be two months into this thing at the end of April. Everyone who reads this I encourage you to hug your kids and tell them you think they are amazing and you are proud of who they are, not what they do. Then go hug your husband and give him a kiss you would have when you were dating. Housework and projects don't mean much, relationships are lasting and this is how we leave our legacy.

And if you have never contemplated a relationship with God, ask him some questions, He knows so much more than we do."

One wise woman, she is.

I just signed up 2 b a Chemo Angel and am waiting for my assignment. Elizabeth posted that Jacob has them. Maybe you could get them Chemo Angels also. What a wonderful way to love someone through this difficult time. Just Google Chemo Angel and you can get all the info.

Thank you Diane. Colleen's surgery is this Wednesday. As I may have said, she went with the chemo first. Two of her daughters are close by. Her husband passed away a year ago January, so she will rely on her daughters and some close friends during her recoup. Christy is younger, and I think she may feel she needs to push herself a little too hard. Afterall she is a preacher's wife. She tries to be at church every Sunday and of course always has a smile on her face for all. She does stay home when not feeling well, and stays at the back of the church. All are award that if they have a cough or a sniffle that they wave to her from afar, since her immune system is low. Thanks for continued prayers.

Claudia, we are all sisters of a kind. We can all imagine what it would be like to have breast cancer. The new cancer numbers are scary and we can all feel compassion for another sister going through such an ordeal. Thank you so very much for being such a loving friend to Christy and Colleen, for sharing their stories and need for prayer and compassion and encouragement. In sending loving prayer or healing wishes and thoughts to them, perhaps we can share their burden just a bit.

What month are you needing Claudia, I can see if they have it at our co-op here and send it to you
It would be no trouble, just let me know before Monday. And let us know if there is anything that we can do to help.

Love and hugs

Claudia, Thanks for the update - and Nini thank you so much for sending the books out!
Can we do a card shower for both of these ladies to let them know personally that we are praying for them? I personally would love to do this.
How can we go about getting addresses? E-mail you Claudia?
Thanks - praying for these two precious ladies.
Hugs, Ruth

I saw Christy this morning. She is a beautiful young woman with clear alabaster skin, red eyebrows and eyelashes and a kerchief on her head. Yesterday was another round of chemo. She said that with each dose, it makes her more sick. She said another thing she notices is an increasing amount of depression lasting at least 3 days after the chemo. They are still monitoring her other breast...so another MRI tomorrow. She has such a good attitude. This week, the kids are off to Gramma's,except her 1 yr old baby, allowing her to rest. Nini had sent me some books dealing with breast cancer and survival. I was so glad to be able to give them to her representing MJ Farmgirls. I also gave her my last copy of MJ Farm magazine, so she could see what draws us to be a group, such as we are. I'm hoping that I can still find another copy in the store. Anyway, please continue to pray for Christy.

Another friend here from Deer Park, will be having a double mastectomy next Wednesday for cancer. She was my boss. She lost her husband in Jan'10, and discovered her lump last November. She opted to have the chemo first and then the mastectomy...a reversal of Christy's treatment. So...Colleen also needs prayer. thank you for any extra prayers you can send heavenward for these ladies.
