Would you please remember my Pastor's wife Christy who is undergoing surgery this morning for cancer of her breast. She is mid 30's, has 4 children, with the youngest 6 months old, and her father died unexpectedly right before Thanksgiving. It seems to be one thing after another. She has such a tender heart. I know God is in control, but I know she and Jeromy would appreciate support from her fellow "sisters" across the land. See the last comment by me on page 4. Thank you so much!

I'll be praying, Claudia. I just found this post, so I know she's past the surgery, but I will keep praying until she's fully recovered and healed! Please keep us posted. Hugs - Nini

Well, we got an update today. Pastor says that the surgery went well and they were able to easily locate the lymph nodes. I told him about you sisters...farm girls who never drop things but stick with it through thick & thin. Christy was raised on a farm. I will tell her all about you when she is feeling some better. There are some specific things Pastor asked for prayer:
1. That Christy’s incision from the 1st surgery would heal up. (It’s complicating things & limiting treatment options.) 2. For the lymph node testing to come back negative (cancer didn’t spread) 3. For us to make wise decisions for her treatment within the next couple weeks. 4. That Christy would feel hopeful through the trial. (Proverbs 31:25) 5. That I as a husband would love my wife & kids well through all this. 6. We would experience & know the loving grace of God in obvious ways.
I know these are a long list, but I think in principle, they are good reminders when we pray for anyone who is ill.
Blessings on all of you who pray and those who read these petitions of those who need prayer. Thank you!

Loving prayers being sent to Christy and her family. Strength when she is feeling down, comfort when she is feeling lost and through out this ordeal, the knowledge that she has sisters to send love, hugs and prayers her way. I'm hoping that she will join us when she is feeling well enough to socialize =) Sisterhood is powerful and whether it is healing thoughts or prayers, we all are here for each other =)

I pray for Christy's complete healing and for Christy's family and friends to know what to do to help her. I pray that Christy will relax and let everyone take care of her so she can heal and return to full health.

Prayers for Chrisy and her family that she have a complete, clear report of her surgery. Thankful for the list your paster gave, it does help in sending our prayers. It opens our eyes and hearts to know the needs that they have. Bless the children and her DH through all of this also.

This is what Christy wrote this morning on face book.
"Feeling better from surgery. Sore left armpit still. I am marked as an official cancer patient with a port in my right neck. A bit surreal that in the future they will be administering poison to that spot. I have been staying off facebook because it gets a bit overwhelming. Feel free to read but don't feel like you have to respond. Praying for me is the best. I love you all my friends and family."

Bless her heart...Prayers continue for them all. Her best gift right now, besides Jesus , is her loving, prayerful husband. Keep us posted and let them know we care.

Thank you Darlene. I wrote her this morning on fB and told her there were farm sisters praying for her all over the country. I think God is pleased also that His children are praying for the wife of one who preaches the Gospel. Thank you again.

Lifes not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.
Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)
P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |

Thank you for praying for Christy. She got her hair cut in a pixie cut in preparation for what happens with cancer treatment. She has beuutiful bright red hair. She actually looks younger and perky. Thank you all for prayers. That is the only way we can stand!

This is an update on Christy, my Pastor's wife as she told it today: home from surgery and i don't feel pain, my head is clear, I am not crying, and I just scheduled apts. i know I should go lie down. My husband is sleeping. Nurse maid has exhausted him. God was faithful to all of our prayers. I was not sick and I laughed alot coming out of surgery. It was medicine for my soul. Thank you everyone. I believe all my cancer is gone and now I am just on the preventitve treatment plan in the months to follow. Please rest assured everyone that I know my God is in control and He is working all things for good in my life. I love you all tons.

Christy had a mammogram on her other breast today. Evidently the radiologists said they thought all was well, she just had an "active" breast, because she was nursing her baby up until the time they found the lump. So hopefully, she will start her chemo soon and get the show on the road to get this treatment completed/ thanks for all your prayers.
