Posted - Jun 06 2011 : 06:24:39 AM Terri, Just wanted you to know I am sorry for the loss of your dh. I cannot imagine what you are going through but I will keep you in prayer. Know that you are loved here. There is a thread here that may help you. It is made up of some of girls here who have also dealt with the same loss you are. I am not sure what it was called but will see if I can find it. It is always good to have a group to support you during the difficult times. hugs, Denise

Posted - Jun 05 2011 : 07:21:07 AM I am so sorry to hear this. If you need to talk, we are here for you. I'm sure those were 38 wonderful years. My best friend died 2 weeks ago and her hubby is just lost. They were married that long too. I cannot even imagine what it's like. Sending hugs your way.

Posted - Jun 04 2011 : 9:07:40 PM Terri, I cannot say I know how you feel. I've been with my husband only 16 years. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at age 40 and doctors were even talking heart transplant sometime down the road. Thanks be to God, he is doing very well now. I said that just to say, God IS at work in your life; I give Him all the praise for getting us through my husband's illness.
Let yourself miss your husband; cry while standing in line at the grocery store; get angry when you look at pictures. God will be there with you as you experience every realm of emotion. You may even get angry at God, but He understands.
When my mother died, I tried to envision her being pain free (she fought cancer for five years) and Jesus welcoming her with open arms; I told myself that Heaven needed another angel. The days ahead will not be easy, but as trite as this may sound, take it one day at a time.
I feel I'm rambling so I'll just say you'll be in my prayers and I know you'll have the "farmgirl family" supporting you too. Keep in touch with us. Darlene

Posted - Jun 04 2011 : 8:50:28 PM God bless your heart, Terri. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you. You truly shared a lifetime together - what a blessing! Would you like to share with us about him? I'd love to hear about the love and life you shared. I know it isn't easy at all, but sometimes it helps to "talk" and remember. We're all here for you, ready and willing to listen - and pray! I will be praying for you, for sure. :) Big warm hugs - Nini
