My daughter is outgrowing her jeans in the length but they still fit her waist. I wondered if any of you have any great ideas for turning these into shorts that look cuter than just cut offs. I just need a few ideas to get my creative juices flowing. BTW she is 8. Thanks so much!! D

How about making them into capris as well. You can sew a trim of ribbon, lace, or bead fringe along the bottoms. I have just cut my daughters into shorts. Of course, her being 14 she isnt having anything to do w/ruffles. She likes the fringed look after washing them. :)

I remember seeing this in the magazine... http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11266

For Tori, I add a ruffle of white eyelet. I've also added cute or funky material to the cuff like Corrine said. :) She loves it because she gets to pick the material and I like that her little legs are covered :D

my thoughts exactly, julie! a ruffle or a cuff in a cotton floral would be very cute and clean looking.

Cut them off then sew a ruffle of cute fabric at the bottom.
