This is just the silliest question ever, but what do you wear to these things? I was a professionally trained ballerina, and didn't do the recital thing, and when folks came to see me, even as a younger girl, they were in dresses and heels because we performed at opera houses.

Our lovely niece, Ava, is in her first recital, which will be held at a local high school gymnasium, in a very wealthy suburb of Indianapolis. So, I'm thinking a nice summery dress with heeled sandals, but then I'm thinking, is that too much, too little? I don't have a lot of choices because I still have some baby weight, but I want to make sure that I look nice, especially since I'm "Aunt Jonni"...I could go out and try to find something, but has anyone ever tried shopping with a 4 month old???

What do you all think?

That's really cute, and not a bad price. Old Navy is VERY close to my house :) I will head there, and I have a coupon for Macy's, though admittedly, I'm not to thrilled with the "fashion" this summer.

Thanks!

Oh...and I LIVED in these dresses after I had Charlie because they were cool, comfotable, easy to care for and hid a few..ahem...sins... : ) You little sandals sound cute. Just be you and don't worry.

I have something similiar to this:

With a cute cardigan http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=43069&vid=1&pid=539396&scid=539396162 over it and some ballett flats. Add a nice piece of jewelry and I am ready to go.
