After the plug for fashionable rubber boots in the latest MJF magazine, I went on-line to look at the different designs that are available. My Goodness there are a lot of designs! Now all I can think is I'm going to end up with 10 pairs of boots and will feel compelled to make a matching apron to go with each pair! Hee hee!!

Not really, but there are a lot of cute designs and the first pair I looked at immediately got me started thinking about making a matching apron. I'll probably keep wearing my ugly Great Northerns until they crumble off my feet. Sigh.

The chief source of failure and unhapiness is trading what you want the most for what you want at the moment.

Many years ago my mom ordered some green knee high muck boots for me from LL Bean. I absolutely love them but I have one problem along with my daughters too. Our calfs are too big. My oldest daughter says we don't have calfs we have cows. She says our legs are not fashionable but functional:) We are not the tallest girls and are all very athletic. Does anyone else have this problem? I still have my green Wellington boots and everytime I irrigate I wish I could squeeze them on. I guess I should barter them out on farmgirl barter but I just can't part with them and now they are getting old. Don't want to quit building those calf muscles but sure wish my boots fit :/

Don't you guys love these Wellington boots!!!! i am with you, Sarah...I wouldn't be without them! I have about 4 pair and wear them to work in the garden or to walk my dogs on a wet day!
And you can wear them all year round! I think I have to add to my collection and get the Rose ones from Victoria Trading Company. Thanks, Jennifer! I LOVE THEM!!!

My husband and boys bought me a pair of Muck boots for Mothers day a year ago. Mine are pink and black houndstooth with pink uppers. They picked them out themselves and surprised me. Even though they are insulated I wear them everyday. They do get a little hot on 90 degree days, but they are so cute I have to wear them.

Amanda- try looking at Target. I saw some there and I did see some at Wally World. I think it is silly! It's the middle of July! They should have had those out in March when we were all hip-deep in mud (or so it felt like!) but was there any to be found? Noooo... ;)

I'm a bare foot gal and getting me into shoes is hard enough but never boots. Well my grown son knows I love roses and thinks there are times when I should wear boots. So for Christmas he gave me green ones with pink roses!! I love them and wear them with dresses even. Had not thought of making a apron to match but was a cute idea. Off to check me fabric stash. LOL

Sarah-I have two pairs of the traditional black leather boots, but I have been thinking about taking a leaf out of the winter issue and painting my boots like they did the ice skates. I figure it might flake off after a while but then I could start out all over again...
