Hello Ladies, I was looking for a pattern of this apron I remember my grandmother wearing while working in the garden. It had a pocket at her waist that went all the way across her hips and would almost disappear when she stood up. It also looked like two pieces because she used the bottom to kneel on. My aunts say they were once popular but I have yet to find one. When they bought anything, they bought it from Sears. I haven't seen it in any of the Sears pages. Does this style of apron ring any bells? If so anyone know where I could get it?

Yes.. these are my rose colored glasses. It's a pretty way to see.

I have been thinking about this. When I get up to the fabric outlet tomorrow I am going to try to find some "duck/duct cloth" weight item. I bought a kneeling board at the dollar store and I am going to make some sort of apron that you can kneel on in the garden and have pockets for your tools. I would suppose it would wrap around too.

Thanks everyone, I haven't found it yet but I will draw a picture and see if I could post it.

Bonnie, thank you for the link. . . never heard of her before, now I have to have her books! LOL!!

Bugabee, I remember my Nana wearing one simular to what you described. She to ordered from sears and also from Montgomery Wards. I will need to pull out a few of my vintage apron pattern books and patterns to see if I have it in my collection. If I do, I will post here to let you know!

Try going to apronmemories.com and asking Ellyann Giesel about it. She has written several apron books. Maybe she has seen it. Bonnie
