ok gals, now I have to confess to being jealous! I use to have long hair to my waist and often wore it up in braids like my grandmother did but 4 years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes and lupus and my hair has fallen out by the handfuls! right now it is very short and I have to wear bangs (which I don't really like) to cover the balding spot in the front.....sigh.....

My mom always said that long hair was God's gift to women, and that men like long hair better! LOL. I don't know how true it is, but, I love having long hair. Mine's down to the top of my rear. If you need some advice, there's a great forum here:

Channah,
Sounds like my daughter, shes 28, has hair like yours. It started out dark blond and darkens up a bit in the winter. In the summer when the sun hits it it just sparkles with gold, copper and brass highlights, it is very thick and has body but not really curls and is down to the middle of her back. She has never permed or colored her hair and it is truly beautiful. She has worn in down to the hips but wants to cut it.
I have worn my hair long most of my life. We cut about 15 inches off it a couple of weeks ago but it is still almost to my waist. It is dark brown with some silver. I have cut it a few times but just couldn't wait for it to grow out.

Diane, I have a friend just like that. She has to trim it semi short because it is so thick and gives her bad headaces. :( But I don't think she really wants long hair though. lol Judy, I am very sure that you have beautiful hair!!

Marlyn, that's funny! Amy, my aunt's hairdresser actually said that some people actually have a point where their hair will just stop growing. It won't fall out, but it won't grow anymore. My aunt has that. But I'm glad I don't! I just love long hair!

Channah I am so jealous. I have always wanted long hair too. At 47, I've finally gave up, mine is just to fine and I've decided to just deal with it. Right now it's in a chin length bob. Anything longer and it starts looking really bad.

I have short hair. I used to have it long but I have sooooo much that it gives me a headache when I put it up or in a pony tail. I try to grow it out some, but get to that stage where it just looks awful and I can't do anything with it. I have to have it cut once a month also, because it grows like a weed. Men always like long hair for some reason, my DH always wants me to grow it. I just tell him that he can grow his! He is in the military so he can't grow it until he retires. He will probably grow it long and have a beard and look like some deranged professor.
So anyway it's short hair for me...besides I wear a lot of hats and it is easier to wear them with short hair.

I love long hair too. Mine gets in the toilet if I'm not careful!
I am in my 50's and other women are always asking me why don't I cut my hair. i would so much younger if I did. blaw, blaw. Truth be told I think they are jealous. We just had family pictures taken for my parents 60th anniversary and the photographer thought I was one of my daughters and that my husband was my uncle. Thing is I am older then my hubby. Long hair is beautiful

My hair is about as long as yours is, Channah. I don't know at this point if it would grow any longer. I would let it get longer...I just don't know that my hair has enough oomph to get there!!

Your hair sounds beautiful!!

Hi Girls, People have asked me why I want long hair too and I just love it! Its just beautiful!
Amy, my hair is about to the middle of my back right now. I would love for it to touch the floor but I think that would take anyother 15 years. lol My hair color is dark blonde but is turning a light brown. :) You can see natural red highlights when the sun hits its. :) I like it very much and am blessed to have such beautiful hair. :) Do you still have long hair??
Hugs,
Channah

I used to have long hair. Now as I'm older, it is quite thin, and won't make a decent ponytail, much less a bun. I keep it just above shoulder length. I always wished for thick hair to wear up Gibson girl style. Maybe next life!!

Channah, what I like about long hair is just that it's long! You can throw it over one shoulder, you can braid it, or you can just throw it in a bun on the top of your head. I've always wondered that too! People have asked me, why would you want long hair? I just say, I love long hair!

I don't know, but I love long hair. My sister (who has short hair) always asks me why I even have long hair if I always wear it up or under something. :) I had short hair once in my life (right after having my first baby) and all i could do was look at pictures of me with long hair and think "Aw....I want that hair back!!" I like my long hair...but to each their own.

How long is your hair now? I'm sure its absolutely lovely :)
