I like to wear skirts, but often am confused about what type of shoes to wear. I am not into the athletic shoes with a skirt look. In winter I sometimes wear tights/leggings with boots (more for an outing- like church or special occasion). everyday is where I run into problems figuring it out. summer is a little easier- I just wear flip flops or crocs with a denim skirt.

Posted - May 15 2010 : 9:40:27 PM Well.. as far as I am concerned on footwear Cowboy boots go with anything and everything !! (SMILE) I live in my fatboys If I were to get married again today I would have my boots on under my dress! I also wear some of those designer sort of mud boots for those dirty days had a pretty blue pair with flowers on them. ha I do have a couple other pairs of real shoes but hardly ever put them on. I always reach for my boots!

Posted - May 12 2010 : 1:19:03 PM I love skirts and NO shoes. Thats what I love about summer is my feet can be free. My Grandmother's Aunt wrote a book about her life in Russia before she came to America. She said she never wore shoes except to church. No one could afford shoes. She even talks about sled riding in barefeet!! Now thats some tuff feet. Jane

Posted - May 12 2010 : 10:36:17 AM I think ballet shoes look best with skirts. Flip flops are good for the pool, but for shopping and such flip flops just look sloppy.
Blessings!

Posted - May 12 2010 : 09:06:21 AM In my opinion you can never go wrong with a cute pair of MaryJane's. However, sometimes I just throw on my pink and black converse.

Posted - May 11 2010 : 9:07:41 PM I recently got a pair of "shooties" to wear with skirts. They're a cross between a boot and a shoe. I don't like sandals but a cute pair of floral print sneakers always looks good with a skirt. Cindy

Posted - May 11 2010 : 8:14:16 PM I'm a boot-aholic - I love the victorian style boots short or tall. I even have some that are reproductions that button and my kids got me some custom made lace up gigi's for my birthday a couple of years ago that are knee high with Louis IV heels - historically accurate for the turn of the century (think Diana Berry in the cow pasture). If not boots - then its Birkenstocks.

Posted - May 11 2010 : 09:18:05 AM Flats, sandals, boots. I have a pair of leather work boots and wool socks I wear when working outside. Put on the floppy straw hat and apron.... my daughters giggle and tell me I am going for that prairie look.

Posted - May 11 2010 : 08:34:36 AM I am the boots with skirts kind of girl too! I wear motorcycle boots or I have some white doc martins that I wear also. I am going to wear some high top ked's sneakers with a new sundress I got. I have metal replacement parts in my left ankle so high topped boots or sneakers work for me. I need the support. I just bought some of those capri length leggings to try with skirts and dresses too!

Posted - May 11 2010 : 07:33:54 AM Depends on the skirt too. I love sandals with my skirts but also wear flats what they call ballerina flats or what we use to call MaryJanes. Flip flops work too. In the winter I wear boots, cowboy mostly depending on the skirt. I wear Justin Gypsy cowboy boots they are short. I use to have some espedrills they are the wedge type shoes with the rope around the soles. Usually canvas or cloth sandal tops. Love those. I have never worn athletic shoes with skirts, hate that look.

Posted - May 11 2010 : 06:48:22 AM I'm going through this as well...trying to break away from regular tennis shoes with skirts, which is really what I grew up wearing. I LOVE the Dansko clog type shoes, but I'm too cheap to buy them right now. I just need to break down and do it I guess...I tried a few pair on a couple weeks ago, and they feel absolutely wonderful! I also need more sandals...my one pair that I've had for 5 years is getting old! LOL I really do need to spend more on shoes, I guess....

Posted - May 10 2010 : 10:46:48 PM Flip flops, low heeled sandals, pumps, boots...everything goes really I personally love wearing high heeled pumps with skirts, but my feet hurt a lot from all the walking so have to get used to wearing low heeled shoes and this summer might even buy me a pair of cute low heeled sandals to wear with my skirts. Wow...me in low heels......
