Posted - Jun 22 2011 : 10:37:46 AM I have decided, since I like MJ's No-Frill Frilly apron so much, I am going to make them for shower gifts. Every bride needs one. And that way I don't have to agonize over what she might want. Pick a color and go.
I made one in a retro dark brown with turquoise, cream and tan cirles, some alone and some inside others. Then the ruffle is the same brown background with starbursts in turquoise and cream. The shower lady pinned ribbon ties all over the apron and tied lots of kitchen gadgets to the apron. Missy will wear it for a while, take it off, and the ladies will attempt to remember all the utensils.
It's okay to make as many as we want as long as they are gifts? I think I read somewhere that if you are selling them, you have to acknowledge MJ.

Posted - Jan 16 2012 : 12:26:07 PM I think if you are making gifts you don't have to worry about the copyright thing with MJF. But if you are worried, you could always attach a little tag to them saying where you got the pattern. Or if you're really worried you could email MJF and let them know your concerns.

Posted - Jul 11 2011 : 3:36:57 PM LOL! I just gave an apron as a shower gift; but I can't sew worth a darn so I had bought it at Marshall's. They have a lot of cute retro ones at the stores in my area. Anyhoo.... I made a gift basket for her with the apron (which she adored!), oven mitts to match, heart shaped cake pans, measuring spoons and cups, a cake scented candle, a recipe book, and a package of wooden spoons. She LOVED it, and it was way different from the towels and sheets and flatware she was getting piles of. :)

Posted - Jun 24 2011 : 2:55:02 PM Aprons as shower gifts are the best idea. My favorite one that I gave away was light blue and cherry red with "Kiss Christine the Cook" on it.

Posted - Jun 22 2011 : 7:50:03 PM I love to get aprons as gifts. Especially if they are hand made by the giver. I think that's a great idea. And you have helped me out with a shower gift for a friend who just got married. Thanks!
