I need a new pair of winter boots. I made it last year without a pair and this year I can't wait any longer and need to buy a pair. I hate cold feet. I really like Baffin boots and was going to buy a pair but the place that sold them went out of business now the closest place I could get a pair is over 3 hours away from me. I won't buy anything for my feet without trying it on at the store so buying online isn't an option.

What are some suggestions? Do Walmart boots keep feet warm for $40 or is that the biggest waste of money to buy them? I suppose anything is better than nothing which is what I have at this point. Or should I just cave and try to find a pair of Sorel's or Columbia's?

What do you ladies like to wear for cold weather boots and what do you like about them?

I just got some wonderfully warm boots from LL Bean. They're shearling (lambs' wool) lined suede and so comfy. Not cheap, but then, neither are your feet! They have some stuff on sale now, so you might get lucky.

Good idea, Michele. I love Zappos!

Also Krystle, I know you said you didn't want to order online, but if you order from Zappos and some other online retailers, shipping is free both ways. I have ordered shoes in two sizes from Zappos and then returned the ones that weren't the right size. It was really convenient because they had more selection of the brand I wanted than I could find near where I live.

I have a pair of Keen boots and they are wonderful. I will buy my clothes as cheap as I can, but when it comes to my feet I am willing to spend a good amount. My Keens are about 4 years old and have a good 2 or so years left in them. Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for!
